    My contract has been re-signed

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Domoviye, May 10, 2008.

Hello everyone who still remembers me.
I've been very annoyed with my job recently. They were suppose to tell me 3 weeks ago if I was going to be rehired for the next semester in September. But they didn't have anything ready. So while every other teacher here has been celebrating, and in one case job hunting, for the last 3 or 4 weeks, I've been waiting on tenterhooks.
Finally I got a message from my contact saying they want me back. So YAY!!!
Now that the big stress in my life has gone away, I promise to be on a little bit more and actually review some work, and talk.
    Cheers.

    Congrats Dom :)

Isn't it odd, the similarity between the words re-signed and resigned...

Yeah I noticed that similarity as well Banzai. I confused one of my colleagues for a few seconds with that. And when I told my Chinese friends I just said rehired. Trying to explain to some of them would have been too hard.
    Thanks.

if you think he was on tenterhooks think what his dad and I were.
we would have had to feed the little twit until he got another job.

I really am proud of his accomplishments.
If you knew how hard I had to work to get it so he could speak English that people outside of the family could understand.
But seeing how good he is at teaching others I would say it was well worth the effort.
I think understanding the struggle he had to learn the language and he was using it and hearing it from day 1, has made him more patient than a lot of teachers would be.

    Thanks everyone.
And I'm seriously thinking of walking into my favourite class tomorrow with an EVIL smile and saying, "I am coming back next term, so I DON'T have to be nice anymore. No movie today, instead homework and tests. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!!"
Than as they all look at me as if I'm insane, put in the movie we're going to watch anyways. Like I'd give them homework or tests, that would just mean more work for me.

Also special thanks to Lessa. She's right, I used to talk so fast no one could understand me. So I decided to be nice and finally get out of her hair.
    Cheers

Well I do stop the movie every few minutes and give them new vocabulary, and expressions. I also ask them questions at the end of them movie where they have to do small presentations.
So its not that easy for the students, but it is fun.

Its still really easy and fun for me though.
