The rest is invisible? (There's a "Show your online status" checkbox in the Privacy settings. I'm not sure if it applies to this too, but it might.)
This may well be the case, which is a separate issue unto itself. Such a setting should be transparent to a mod.
When I was a mod, I created a non-mod account specifically for checking such things. Rarely used, and not for general posting, but an invaluable tool.
I'm still coming in halfway through new discussions. Any way to change that automatically going to 'first unread' (because it isn't really the first unread)? Please? I'd rather scroll through familiar comments than have to backtrack constantly (and wondering what the hell people are referring to...)
It's only on threads you've not been on since the change as far as I can tell. For any new threads, it's an excellent feature. Give it time.
This is on all threads - ones I've already been on and new ones. That's what's making it so frustrating.
Hi Daniel, The damnable blue bar across the top third of the screen is back again I'm afraid. Cheers, Greg.
I think I show up as online often when I am not. I always leave windows open, and I use both my desktop and my laptop (which as a very low battery life) to check the account. So, especially if I've used my desktop, it's probably still open, and shows I'm online. I'm not asking for any sort of solution and I don't see how there would be one, just pointing out that even though it might look like someone is online, he or she might not actually be there and ready to interact. Are there any development on the green bars? I see there are still disparities in how many people have, even though the number of posts and likes seem to be comparable. Just curious as to whether there are any current determining factors.
"New Posts" is gone from the menu bar. It's still in the drop down menu under "Community", but I did like it in the menu bar. I see it's been moved to "Quick Links" and I see we have a giant drop down box under the new "Jump" option. So I suppose we all have our druthers.
I don't think so, Liz. You're one of my follows* and you don't show as being online for continuous amounts of time. One of the benefits of working from home: I can be logged in all day * for general all around fabbness Dude, I greeted a brand-spanking-new member the other day who had three green cubes. I was like
Someone had mentioned a while back that "contributor" status, which I lost in the changeover, was now linked to "likes". That does not appear to be the case, as I have seen two people just today with fewer "likes" than I have who are "contributors".
Appreciate the help, Phoenix. I guess the check cleared, huh? (Still no Contributor badge, but lots of new green thingies)
Lol, I figure it was deserved You might have to wait a little while, or log out and back in. It should show up soon here though!
I don't care too much except that whatever the system of green cubes is, it makes no sense. I wouldn't mind some of Wrey's smilies though.
