Your thoughts on Apple iPad

These days Apple iPad is the biggest news-maker. What’s your first initial thought on iPad? Personally I think it would be useful in a home environment or educational institution and handy for casual Internet browsing. Especially the digital books and magazines accompanied by the browser and the iWork apps.
Lets share your thoughts and views...

 

I think it's a large version of the iPhone, which is in itself the iTouch with the ability to call people and record videos, which is essentially just a music player. But I've still got one of each, except the iPad, so far, so I don't know why I'm complaining.

It's just one more thing that I can waste money on, I suppose

 

I'm not too sure, I know I won't get a first generation iPad, simply because the 2nd and 3rd gen is always better and usually cheaper anyway. But it's definitely worth checking out.

 

Well since the first gen iPad can't run two apps at the same time...

 

It looks like a group-effort from all Apple's previous iInventions, and it looks really cool. I already love Apple, simply for my iPod, and the iPad looks interesting, but if I was thinking about one, I'd go with Emily.

 

There's too much apple stuff out there already.

 

I've kinda gone off Apple...they keep giving me reasons to hate them...there's the torturing of employees, the ruthless legal shotgunning, the anticompetition practices in the app store, the inclusion of malware in necessary product updates, the intentional destruction of jailbroken devices, and Jobs' new plan to add unskippable ads that shut down the device unless you respond appropriately to them...

Besides which, the iPad is just a big-ass iPhone without any of the functionality of a tablet PC. If they'd downsized a macbook, it might have worked, but blowing up an iPhone didn't...

I'm much more excited about the Microsoft Courier.

 

At the moment, I agree with the majority opinion in that it looks like a giant iPhone. If I get one, I'll wait for the 2nd/3rd/etc generations, which will be better as well as cheaper.

 

I am waiting for the all-the-bells-and-whistles edition. Full of extra features and goodies. It will be called the 'Max iPad'.

 

^ Max iPad reminds me of all the snide remarks made about the iPad, calling it the "iTampon".

Gi, I'm glad I'm not the only one who though "Maxipad" instead of "Max iPad."

 

There's a video about the iPad that is exactly that...and I honestly had no idea the iPad was a real product until I saw this thread. :redface:

 

Impressed, but not enough to buy one.

I'll iWait and iSave my money.

I hope I need say no more concerning snide/off color remarks.
