I'M BACK! Woohoo! I hope to stick with this a little more consistently than I have, or haven't as the case may be. I have periods of wax and wane. I get really into something, and then I fall out and get really into something else, then go around getting into a whole bunch of stuff that I can't keep up with, before returning to my original "let's do this". My New Year resolution. Make at least one critique, three misc. posts, and actually make progress on my own projects every week. That should be manageable, hmm?
I LOVE POETRY! I love story writing too, I write to express my imagination, and as my signature suggests, to explore. But poems are what I turn to when I need to express my feelings, when I need to throw out a ton of creativity and not have to worry about all the aspects of a story. Here are some really powerful poems that I like: (I suppose they follow the mood of the Empathic Civilization. Words the world needs to hear.) Shane Koyczan - This is My Voice Taylor Mali - What Teachers Make, Totally Like Whatever Sarah Kay - If I Should Have a Daughter Alex Dang - Times I've Been Mistaken for a Girl Guante - Ten Responses to the Phrase "Man Up" Jesse Parent - To the Boys Who May One Day Date My Daughter I would suggest more, but I would end up having 600 pages of this stuff. Seven is a good number apparently, so I'll stick to that. Hopefully, I haven't just fried your brains and depleted your energy with all this.
I want humanity to strive for this kind of world: Empathic Civilization This is the kind of place people can thrive in, not just barely survive... If they survive at all.
I suppose I'll use try to keep this to a few themes. (Though, it will probably disintegrate to complete randomness eventually.) My four "themes" shall be: for random, but thought provoking (sometimes), questions that come to mind (or constantly nag at my mind) for my thoughts on interesting (to me) topics *this and the above topic are closely related* for random rants on the world, life, humanity, and trivial matters for presenting goals (that are probably impractical, if not impossible to achieve) that I have I suppose it is appropriate to touch on each topic in my first blog entry so... If someone is physically a girl, but is transgender and likes guys, does that make them gay? I think this makes them gay, but I'm not completely sure. I think the concepts of dreams are interesting. Are they utter nonsense with no scientific explanation? Deep and meaningful? A combination of both? I strongly dislike my peers. They are never motivated to do anything useful, helpful, or good. They're shallow and irritating and loud. They almost perfectly fit every stereotype I try to ignore. I can't stand to be around them! (I know I'm not supposed to judge and whatnot, but... sometimes it's hard not to.) I'd like to create an international language that uses IPA as an alphabet. It would either be based on a multitude of root languages, or an entirely made up one. The written component would be IPA with some different aspects and symbols for punctuation and stuff like italics and such. People would learn this language starting at an early age, if not grow up being able to speak it. I think it would help unify this disconnected world. I know that there are already thoughts of making an already existing language an international language, but... I like my idea, I'm a bit biased.
