Hmm... That's not bad.. I could totally Fallout Boy it! I do in my other stories, why not this?! You, dear sir, are a genius of an irreproachable caliber!
All Is Fair In Fatherhood (alliteration; rhythmic septuple 2-2-3 meter; pun on "fair") Bonus: there are no Google results for that exact phrase. (Well, now there will be. )
Need more info. Who are these two other characters? Is this more about the father or the son? (Sounds like a great idea, btw)
It's more about the son, it's all from his PoV. Basically, his father isn't well and resorted to kidnap the son from his mother as he runs away from his doctors. Off his meds, they travel toward Maryland and end up passing the night at an abandoned carnival on route 2. The son loves his father and makes excuses for his odd behavior and terrible and dangerous parenting skills. The two strangers he meets, promise him a better life and try to show him how bad his father really is and how truly sick he is in every encounter. Eventually, the son has to choose, one stranger or the other, return to his mother, continue a life of adventure, and/or help his father somehow. The two strangers aren't fully human. Sort of. They don't have real names and don't really fit in with the world around them. They're there for the son, whether he wished it or not. It could be all in the son's head or it could be real. It's never shown in the story as the son is a child so he just goes with it, mostly.

My favorite title is Eden's Tears, but that's just me. Go with your gut feeling and name it what you truly want. Code names come in handy when you're lost for a title. I do it all the time. Sometimes it works!
I totally get what you mean about the name thing, but, there are hundreds of different characters out there with the same or similar names and once your character has a name that fits, then you might find it very difficult to rename that character. My book's been out for just about a year now and in the last six months, four TV programmes have appeared, each with a character who has the same first name as one of my characters. I can't make them change it just like I can't go back and change the names in my book.
Then why do the publishers take the initiative to be the ones to supply such things if readers don't buy books based on the cover/title? That's not the point of the cover. Artwork that is supplied for the use of a book cover, or the poster for a film etc, is more about advertising and idea placement. In a single image, you're supposed to give key information out to potential buyers, such as genre, style, story idea, who the product is supposed to be aimed at etc. We can all tell just by the cover artwork alone which market the Harry Potter books are meant to be aimed at and who/what the story is about and which Ulysses or Dante's Inferno are aimed at etc Funnily enough, artists also work for publishers and the film industry. The only thing that has changed is the fact they are not painting on a canvas. The likelihood is that the art department of publishers or film studios know that a picture tells a thousand words and that single image is partly used to convey everything about that book in the strongest and most simplest way to the market it's aiming it at. People are a hell of a lot more intelligent than you give them credit for to know the difference between a book store and an art store.
I like 'Barren Heavens' but at this stage it's probably best to just start writing. As you write, you will create new content which can be used as an idea for your book title. Don't worry and just start writing!
Realm of a Mad God, Barren Heavens, and Eden's Tears all work for me. Whatever works for you - and a title is less important at this stage. Mine keeps shifting. I finally found a good one but it's not going to stick because it's better suited to the part of the story AFTER the one I'm actually writing
man that made me almost die with laughter! Mists & Monoliths stands out to me! or what about this complete curveball (just a suggestion from me): Seasons In The Abyss
If you ask me, forget about the title for the moment and get a good, attractive book cover designed. Only THEN move onto choosing a book name...
