    Interesting questions.
I write because, like anything I do creatively, I`m not sure I wouldn`t burst asunder if I didn`t, or couldn`t. I enjoy the crafting of it the most, and the process of creatively solving the problems that I face as I write. The crafting aspect of it all is the most satisfying of it for me. I also sculpt and consider writing as sculpting, only with words instead of clay.
The idea is what made me start, as with everything. The idea is the catalyst, the flash, the burst of inspiration, the energy it gives you as you face the endless days of writing.
My first novel was based in the superhero genre, my second is about an undercover cop, so I`m not solely a single genre writer. The idea drives.

    What compels you to write?
First off I enjoy it, why else do something if you do not get enjoyment out of things. The other main point is that the story has been stuck in my head for so long it feels as if the characters and the idea are banging on the side of my skull wanting to come out !

    Why do you write?
To bring my ideas to life, the idea of have the idea of concept of something and being able to make it come to life on the paper.

What makes you write what you write?
Currently I'm only writing one story, something that has stuck in my head for a long time and something that I myself love to read.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
This is a tough one, I started with blogging which then has lead on to wanting to write more. I could easily talk the hind legs off a donkey to be honest which is also another reason as to why I wanted to write, I find it easy to just flow with these sort of things.

    What Do You Write?
Currently just A fantasy book / series. I would like to have a go at maybe a horror at some stage but still wet behind the ears.

    What compels you to write?
My drive to write comes from knowing that I have many stories to tell, and with each passing day, less time to tell them.

    Why do you write?
To put it simply, I write in order to tell the stories and other ideas in my head. A secondary reason that I write is because i don't know the entire story either, and I surprise myself as to how the story will actually go.

What makes you write what you write?
My longer and more thoughtful stories are usually written to illustrate a specific issue in today's society. Then I build the story around that original core, or heart. However, most of my stories come to me out of the blue, where I see a different spin or a new angle on something happening around me, and that becomes the next story, or it will at least become an entry in the Idea Tracker.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
I'm not sure if I have decided I like writing yet. Writing challenges me. I want to every page be perfect - on the first draft, and this perfectionist attitude of mine has kept me from writing over the years, as I would spend hours on end proofreading and editing the sentence, paragraph, or page that I had just completed. I didn't have Writer's Block. I had Writer's Gridlock. With the constant rewriting I never got anywhere.

Miraculously, I solved this problem a few months ago by changing the voice I used in stories. The voice of my story became the voice that I used for myself. It just flows. Before, I was trying to use a more grandiose, complex writing style that was littered with metaphors and similes and words only used in research papers . Now my story is just me, at least for the first draft. Turns out my voice needs some shining and polishing, but at least I get the story out there.

Back to the question. The weekend when I broke my Writer's Gridlock and wrote for forty-eight hours straight, I also learned that writing from "this voice" is pretty fun. Turns out, I don't always know what "this voice" has planned for my characters or my story. Will there be a betrayal? A death? I don't know! And that's exciting. It also helps me like writing a little bit more.

    What Do You Write?
I'm writing a little bit of everything. Currently, I am working on Horror, Crime, Science-Fiction, Suspense, Fantasy, and Romance/Suspense stories. My genres and themes vary as much as my imagination. I focus on tell ing the story and not the genre, at least for now, since I'm not published. I won't have to cross that bridge for a while.

    What compells you to write?
Mostly anger and contempt. Also some sporadic flashes of inspiration and fascination.
    Why do you write?
Because I often don't know, as nonsensical as it sounds, what I think before I've written it. If I have a basic, mammalian intuition to start with, this intuition becomes elaborate, fluent and thoughful when I write. It's as though the closer my fingers are to a pen or a computer keyboard, the more my mind unravels and reflects. This process still amazes me.
What makes you write what you write?
My writing is often the consequence of me giving into a aching and reoccurring thought and realizing that writing is the only way I can transform that thought from the mildly irritating to the mildly enjoyable.
What Made you decide you liked to write?
It was never a decision. I knew very early that writing was something I appreciated doing.
    What Do You Write?
    Polemical writing and creative nonfiction.

I write for many reasons, not because I'm a gifted writer and it comes easy to me - because it doesn't.
Hmm, I have a crazy imagination and it feels good to be able to do use it.
It helps my anxiety, believe it or not. I find it therapeutic.

    What compels you to write?
No idea, it just feels natural.

    Why do you write?

Because it's the only way I know how to express myself fully, and because there's so much going on in my head, writing in the only way to get it out sufficiently enough, or so it seems to me.

What makes you write what you write?
An inner urge that I cannot place, pinpoint or explain.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
It wasn't a decision. Writing chose me.

    What Do You Write?
I have written three novels, one of which is currently in talks with a publisher. I also write personally, about my experiences and philosophies on life, and how they change as I travel and meet new people and learn new things. For money, it's the boring stuff (web content, marketing materials etc.)

    And thanks for asking :)

I write because I appreciate the power of the written word. Literature can shape the course of history, and have massive effects on culture. I definitely appreciate the cathartic aspect as well.
I like to think that my gift is storytelling of some kind, and I have always had a creative mind.

I write because this is my job :) Why have I chosen this job? Well, I like the process of writing itself; and it's always good to share some knowledge and experience with other people.

I have a natural desire to write. No matter what. I also write to do things the way I like,
there is no freedom compared to that of the writer.
    Freedom to create worlds...

    What compels you to write?
My very creative imagination. I'm always thinking of new ideas and plots that I have to at least try and put on paper. Also after reading a great book, there's always a feeling of "I need to write something like that for others to enjoy as much as I enjoyed that."

    Why do you write?
I've had a passion for reading and writing from a young age. Some people wanted to be a doctor or a scientist, I wanted to write books. It's a stress-release and it's pleasing to put my imagination on paper.

What makes you write what you write?
I get inspired by everything. Films, lyrics, poems, books, real-life experiences. I love the idea that my imagination could produce an endless amount of material and anything could trigger the inspiration.

What made you decide you liked to write?
Back in my early teens, I wrote a lot of fan fiction. As I got older, I needed to break away and write original material. Every time I write another paragraph, even if I'm riddled with writer's block, I feel very proud of my work, even if the quality isn't always great.

    What Do You Write?
Novellas, short stories, poems, lyrics. I do enjoy writing fantasy more than anything but I have other projects in the works in all sorts of genres.

    What compels you to write?

To this question, a quote, "Love is all there is. And you are cannon fodder in it's defense." - Ganja & Hess

    Why do you write?

I've never been able to communicate well in real life. I have a severe stutter which leaves many thoughts and emotions unexpressed. Part of my hope is that one day writing will be the conversation I was never able to have.

What makes you write what you write?

It's what is on my heart. If it didn't fascinating me I doubt I could find the interest to keep going back to it.

What made you decide you liked to write?

When I've wrote in the past I sometimes got that feeling of, like I said before, having that "conversation", that escaped me in real life. The expression of an idea or emotion that I couldn't get out otherwise. It can be highly cathartic as well. To see some humor or beauty in what you write.

    What do you write?

In general terms, I write fantasy adventure with a focus on character. That's pretty vague but I'm just figuring things out.

    The truth.

    1. I'm not sure, quite honestly. Seems like I have enough that has happened in my life, so I feel like I could make a story using some of my life experience.

    2. I think it's cause my friend writes, and so does my father. It's pretty fun, and gives you the opportunity to kinda put yourself in our main characters life.

    3. Again, past experiences it depends on my mood. I write lovey stuff if I am feeling loved, or am in love. I write sad, depressing, not horror, but I guess thriller. It just depends.

    4. I think it's just cause you get to choose how the characters live, and what they do. It's pretty cool.

    5. I have written fanfiction for Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings.
I am in the middle of my first book, that I just came up with. Kinda struggling with it though.

This is interesting as a self-examination exercise...
It's among the best things I've found to help me be in the moment (another being to play my guitar and sing).
ATM, because I want to understand the process of getting from idea to published novel.
I like to make people laugh.
I know more about writing than I do about anything else I've ever studied, both in school/college and on my own.
Speculative fiction with a humourous twist.

    What compels you to write?

There is no way to explain in words why I am compelled to write. I just am.

    Why do you write?

I write because I have a story to tell. If I don't tell that story, it will ball up inside of me until I explode. I don't think I could stop writing even if I wanted to. It just feels right. Writing down what is in my head flows smoother than if I were to speak it in words.

What makes you write what you write?

I write what I write because it makes me feel better. The stories I write come from my own head and they are often interpretations of my inner feelings. I also feel like people could benefit from the stories I have to tell. I have a need to inspire others and I feel like I could do that with my writing.

What Made you decide you liked to write?

Books and reading. When I was little, my mom read the Harry Potter books to me. I loved it so much I wanted to envelope myself in Harry's world. So, I started writing fan fictions about my own made up characters going to Hogwarts. I realized then that I loved coming up with stories and making characters. Writing has been a part of my life ever since.

    What Do You Write?

I mostly stick with Science Fiction or Fantasy Fiction. I love being able to completely create my own world and setting. I feel like these two genres allow me to be more creative.

1.) What compells you to write?
A simple answer would do this question no justice. Many people write, In fact, almost everyone at one point has typed something or writen something on a piece of paper, because the HAD to. The question here should be more along the lines of "What compells you to write creatively?" or something along those lines. To answer this question, I will say, Because I want to.
    2.) Why do you write?
Again, this question is kind of rhetorical. Most people would answer this with a "Because I have to" however, I, on the other hand, write because I want to share things with people and show them things that they were to metaphorically blind to see before. I want to show people the odds and ends of the world, and make a difference doing it.
    3.) What makes you write?
I'll give you an example, because explaining would take way too long. The other day I'm at an amusement park, this kid behind me starts butting in to my conversation that I'm having with my mates. Then, out of no where, he starts screeching and chanting the same thing over and over again, driving everyone in the line bonkers. Then I look back at his mom and shes just like "This is after a cup of soda" and never says anything to her kid to make him stop. So I'm standing there in this line wanting to snap this kids neck and feeling so miserable. I write to make people realize the stupid things they o
4.)What made you decide to write?
The Stupidity and arrogance of people
    5.) What do you write?
Non-fiction, Fiction with meaning, Poetry, etc. Honestly anything involving teaching someone a lesson

    What compels you to write?
    I just like to write.

    Why do you write?
I write for fun, also to see what I can create. Creating things like creatures, characters, and worlds is fun to me.

What makes you write what you write?
I want to make something that could be awesome if I figure out how to make it that way.

What made you decide you liked to write?
I get this awesome feeling when I'm writing something, like I can't wait to get these ideas out of my head and onto the screen.

    What do you write?
I write fictional stories, most of them are fantasy related though I've tried other types of stories.

The stories demand to be told.

And the voices seriously won't shut up unless you put them to paper sometimes.
