I've never been able to understand the point of snooze alarms. If I need to get up at 6 AM, I set the alarm for that time and get up when it goes off. I can't see any rational reason for setting the alarm for 5;30 and hitting snooze several times before I get up at 6 anyway.

You can walk all over them as much as you want, but the experts say you should really take them outside and beat them at least once a month.

Turkish rugs, what did you think I was talking about?

    I've named mine "Lucille".

Mrs. A just asked me which musician or group I liked to dance to.

    "Nitzer Ebb"

    She wasn't familiar with them.

    It didn't end well.

This is one thread I can (safely) participate in.

I was just trying to post in some other websites & I'm a nervous wreck because I'm supposed to be 'critical' & all I want to do is post a response. But only if I like the original post. Telling someone how much I don't like " " or disagree is not my gig. Well, not a piece of art anyway. Maybe if I'm trying to save something good or speak up for the underdog.

I've yet to figure out if that faint noise in the distant is a child screaming. It really, really sounds like one.

From my experience, I would prefer to have a dozen people tell me everything they didn't like, rather than to hear only the sound of crickets.
This applies to when I post something with the specific intent of asking for a critique.

When I give critique I tend to always point out stuff I did like to balance out my criticism. Even saying you disliked something can be a good message. If you write about what your gripes were, and what just didn't hit home for you, it's really worth something to a writer. It's about offering a point of view on the piece, not about how you dislike it. That's how I try to look at it, anyway, haha.

I think I'll try just pointing what seems confusing to me and see if that works. I used to love critique but I think I've lost the desire or the will or the art or something.

Yes, I know, spoilers are easy to find when your country is five years behind on Dr. Who, but they just recently aired the first episode featuring The Silence, and I couldn't help but wonder (and the spoilers have been ingested already, so save your keyboard) what the hell they'd done wrong in that first episode? I mean, as near as I can tell, their only crime was have very unmemorable faces. True, as an extreme anti-natalist, I'd oppose their greater mission (which I don't officially know about yet), but right off the bat, the Doctor & Co decide they are bad because.... why?

Anyway, looking forward to the next few months of seeing how this develops.

    "Glorious, victorious,
One keg of beer for the four of us
And glory be to God that there are no more of us
'Cuz one of us could drink it all alone
    Damn near,
    So pass the beer,
    To the rear,
    of the squaaaad-bay"

I was at a friends house and after we watched the 2 last "The Night Off" episodes, he said that he would drive me home so we got into the car. As we were driving down the avenue, which is almost empty at this hour of the night, we saw the same car we had seen five hours earlier, casually parked at the side of the road with the alarm on. The car was parked in a very clumsy manner, not very near or horizontally to the sidewalk, almost covering the intersection of a smaller road to its right. A kiosk was still open, just a few meters away from the car. My friend parked the car and went to ask the kiosk clerk whether he had noticed that. He said that a police vehicle had come a couple of hours earlier, just took a look and then left. I wonder what happened. Who was the driver and what happened to him or her. I hope I'm not going to hear it from the news tomorrow.

What if that really old thing in the fridge did actually get up one day and walk out on it's own? O_O

This is more of a concept theory...

When we see people within our dreams, could it be entirely possible that our subconscious has bumped into another persons. I mean think about it, for what little we actually understand about that deeper state of consciousness, how do we know where and what it does when we are asleep. Would be a neat concept worth investigating, as it is entirely plausible considering how else can you explain those odd instances of recognizing someone you have never met or seen before. Hmm...O_O

I was looking for a place I could say how cool the marquis effect function or tab is at the top of the page and then realized I could say it here. Very cool!
