Question [Solved] Can i post a chapter of my book and if so where?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Shimario, Dec 10, 2016.

So basically, as the title says, i was wondering if i'm allowed to post a chapter of my book and where to do so.

I was wondering the same thing earlier and someone pointed me in the direction of the workshops. So maybe there?

Once you meet the access requirements (as laid out in your welcome email - I forget exactly but i think its 14 days and 20 posts) and have given 2 decent critiques on other work you can post a piece for crit in the writers workshop. (second section of the board)

you need to maintain an ongoing 2:1 ratio of crit given vs crit sought

My advice would be not to post the whole chapter as shorter pieces have a better chance of getting crit - plus its not a good idea to put too much of your work on line if you want to publish it later (first rights yadda yadda)

as its a chapter you can either put it in novels , or if it works alone as a story put it in the short stories genre that it suits

    • Posting in the Writing Workshop requires 2 or more constructive critiques of other members' work for each new posted work.
    • You must be registered for at least 14 days and have made 20 posts before you can create a thread in our workshops. (This requirement does not apply to members who purchase Supporter status.)
