Hi everyone, I've been an editor for a number of years, left the industry to freelance, and I'm also now starting to write. It's very different being on this side of the fence! I have a lot of respect for writers who can complete a first draft - and really understand how it can be a mountain to climb. Aside from starting to write a fiction novel, I'm looking to understand the psychology behind writing - why do you (any of you) write. What are you hoping to achieve? What do you fear the most? What causes you the most pain? I hope to get a chance to connect with a number of you in time. As a former editor from on of the big companies, I'm also happy to answer insider questions should you have any!
Hi, and welcome to WF! Awesome to get an editor here! I'm sure people will have a lot of questions to ask and would be glad to hear about your experiences. Here's our New Member Quick Start to get you started. See you around! -Kat
There was a thread some time ago focusing on this. Perhaps that'll get you started. As for insider questions, that sounds great. Thank you for offering this. I don't have any ATM, but I'm sure some will come up.
Welcome to the forum. It'd be great to get some thoughts from the other side of writing. There are a lot of threads where your experience would be helpful.
