I've recently started dabbling in mt. Currently working on developing absolute pitch. The really high octaves keep tripping me up.
I ran across an online programme from a U.K. university that covered this, but I don't remember the details. It had exercises where tones were played and you start by responding to "is this one higher or lower than the last" and work up to "which note is this." It's challenging, for sure.
Interesting. I too understand the pitch and tone dilemma, quite a pain to sort out. Oddly enough music has somewhat of a mathematical concept to it (though I understand music, while math is a foreign language at a certain point).
