Amidst A Waking Dream

    It wasn't supposed to be like this.
    But the heart wants what it wants,
    And to deny myself would hurt more.
    My heart is yours forever.
    Am I in the midst of a dream?
    For I never wish to awaken.
    To love you is my greatest joy;
    My deepest desire is your happiness.
    Would you love me as I am?
    Will you never let me go?
    I watch, I wait, I wonder
    Will our paths ever cross?
    Looking at you, I feel so much
    My world starts to spin.
    Then I see your smile
    Your eyes all aglow
    May I be selfish for a moment?
    I would give you anything, my love,
    For my heart is in your hands.

    That's unfortunate. But also your business, though I don't see why you came to this forum then. Because I don't see how else you can grow as a writer; if you're going to put yourself out there, you need to accept that people will have opinions on what you write.

    But again, it's your business and only my opinion, and I'll back off. The poems are not bad but could perhaps be better.
