Ridiculous

So I thought it was a good idea to post a short bit of what my fictional universe is and what it contains on Facebook. Just to gather some feedback and to see what people thought about my ideas without any story attached. Of course I was given a mixed response, some seemed to like it, others pointed out that it was nothing new, and some seemed to think it was absolutely ridiculous.

It was a mixed bag to put it simply. I asked the person who said that all the stuff in my universe had been done before, if they could link me some work that contained it all together. But they ghosted me, which was a bit disappointing because I would have liked to be able to research the competition so to say. The reason I'm writing this story in the first place is because I have not found any other fictional universe that resembles it.

I learned some good things as well, a word I had used was used incorrectly. And most importantly I realised that I have this universe wholly inside my head, all the storylines, how things work, the ins and the outs, it makes sense for me. But for others I can see why it may appear ridiculous, as they don't have the story or the details that make it all work. It was a lesson in being common and not very unique. It was feedback I did not want to hear, but which I probably needed to hear.

Either way, the next time I post something like that, I will include a flash bit of story. Maybe.
