Jarrarium: Day 09 [new life spotted]

By OurJud · Nov 9, 2020 · ·
  1. I collected some pond plants today and picked up at least one hitch-hiker. After adding the plants I spotted a
polycelis felina shortly afterwards (a type of flatworm). Too small to photograph, really, and I disturbed the sediment during planting so it's all looking very brown at the moment anyway.

Ah yes, the platyhelmethes are growing. Always a good sign.

Hehe. You're going to regret letting me know you're all clued up on this stuff. Since posting this I also spotted a caddisfly larvae, all wrapped up in its debris armour.

I'm telling you, if you have all that already, it's teeming at the microbial level. You're really making me want to build one.

Just do a video search on 'jarrariums' and 'ecospheres' and you'll be hooked.

And I've just realised I've been saying it wrong the whole time. It's jarrariums, not jarriums.
