This morning I spent the first hour of my day practicing on the keyboard. I actually like starting my day out one of two ways. Either practicing the keys or working out. I know seems like very different ways to start a day out. However, it is what I enjoy.
Anyway, so this morning it was the keys.![]()
Since I had successfully played ' The longest time' at my friends, Let's call her Sarah, house Sunday night when we were hanging out without needing my sheet music. I decided I had at the least, brought my level back up to where I was on that song 22 years ago.
So, I decided I needed to focus on Fur Elise, as some of you may know, there are a lot of versions of this beautiful piece out there for people to learn. Obviously, goal is to someday play it as it is intended. For now, though I am just working on version 1. Haha which interestingly enough, there are different versions of that as well! So, I can play the very simple one-handed little snip of Elise, just fine even without the sheet music.
So I am currently working on the both hands version 1.
Well (I wish I could upload a recording of me playing to it, I believe you would actually be able to tell which was being played by which hand) I am stronger with my right hand. It just flows more smoothly and sounds better if you ask me. So, it is my left hand that I need a lot of practice with.
But then I started thinking, well why IS my left hand so much weaker at this, I am LEFT-HANDED lol I started thinking about how weird that was to me. And then I started thinking about all the things that I do that does not in fact favor my left hand. I am left-handed, but I bat right-handed (Big Baseball fan over here btw) I realized I also Bowl right-handed. I also use a right-handed bow. Same with shooting a basket. Then I started realizing anything "sporty" I seemed to favor my right.
So, then I was like ......ok what do I actually do left-handed HAHA.
Turns out I eat and draw/write/color Left-handed. Oh, and shoot a rifle left. Some Southpaw I am huh.
