Work

  1. Okay I work at a grocery store which I enjoy. I work 27 hours a week, never asking for a vacation, a day off, being late to work, or even missing a day of work. I have been told by my manager that she wants to make a clone of me. I've had my assistant managers saying that if they could they would give me a raise. My manager has me train basically all the new people. I asked to be an assistant manager and she said she could see me as one. She said she'd think about it. A few weeks later she decided to train someone else. I talked to her and she said that she thought about it, but someone else has something in mind, which means I'm going into a different department. I love the idea of being an assistant manager, I don't want to give that up. I don't know if I should accept the transfer or stay and prove to her that I want the job.

My first reaction would be to say to do what you want. However, you might want to be realistic. I don't know the whole situation or your manager. But if you transfer are you getting a raise/better department, or is this at the same level?

My suggestion is sticking to what you really want.
    But don't be too self-willed.
Sometimes change brings a better chance.
    Good luck!
