  1. Well, I'm back in Japan.

    Back to reality?

    Two weeks of listening to my oldest friends discussing yard-care tips, back to school problems, 401k retirement plans.

    No one told me when to run, I missed the starting gun.

    I'll never own a home, I may never own a car. I may never be able to afford to move back to the US, and I can't afford to retire here.

    Or there.

    Reality sets in again.

    Or perhaps I'm a butterfly, dreaming that I'm a man.

    Where did that frog go?

    Well, I thought you looked lovely in your suit. I wish I could carry off a hat like that, very suave. These days, putting on a suit I boil at the face, really I need a tailor.

    I would have been with you in Japan - but strangely - one of the test questions was 'Who won the war of 1812?'

    I mean, naturally as an historian I wrote 'there never was a war in 1812,' F**king cultural bias I never got the job with NipponTeach, never got together with my buddy Oli, it's quite sad.
