Flash Fiction: Gender, sexuality, and identity.

  1. I've been reading alot of fiction lately about gender and sexuality, so I thought I'd have a go at writing a piece of flash fiction around that theme.

This, was fantastic. You captured exactly the emotions I felt as I got my first guy's haircut recently. This really struck home for me, and I'm impressed at how well you were able to pin down the emotions of someone who was born the incorrect physical sex.

    Very nice :D

Your comment truly blew me away, Jack; you're my ultimate target audience, and here you are telling me I succeeded. I couldn't have asked for a better response! :D

I was so worried I'd get this all wrong, but it's been something I've wanted to write about for a long while now, so I took the chance. You've encouraged me in such a way that I'm now looking forward to writing more of it. :-D

Seriously, you pinned the emotions pretty accurately. Especially that last line. It's this surreal feeling of looking in the mirror and seeing yourself, the way you're supposed to be, for the very first time, as though you'd worn a mask all your life.

All that emotion, just from a haircut and some clothes. It's pretty amazing actually. If you have any questions send a PM my way.
