It's Only Words . . .

By GrahamLewis · Mar 15, 2019 · ·
  1. . . .but words are all I have.

The Christchurch shooting takes my breath away. I want to call it "inhuman" but it can only be human; no other species feels the need to destroy life for theoretical reasons. Quoting Mark Twain: "Man is the only animal who blushes, or needs to." But I'm far beyond blushing, I'm sick at heart.

Religion should have no place in this discussion but sadly it does; these people, good people at their house of worship, were targeted solely because of their religion. I was glad to see the American White House join other nations in condemning it -- far too often our President seems to look the other way when the violence isn't directed toward white Christians.

The cycle continues. Revenge for revenge for revenge. I believe in personal liberty. One mans madness shouldn't strip rights away from the people. Guns can be used to kill, but more often then that they are used to protect. The war between Islam and Christianity has been raging for centuries now. There's enough blood for an unending loop of revenge killings. It makes me think if it would not have just been easier for one side to win long ago.

Now in this climate of peace, where do these rivals conduct their unfinished war? I guess we have our answer, and have had it for a long while. It continues not between nations, but between the people. Even still the innocent are not spared. A new generation of radicals have been born from the idiots act.
