We can't possibly be sheep, it's impossible to not be an individual

  1. Writing is my passion, and I love that I have that in common with so many people on this site. But I also love that even though we have this in common, everyone on here is different; everyone has different things that spark their imagination, everyone has a story to tell, everyone has a past. It's always fascinated me how because of experiences, relationships, childhoods, etc, no one can be exactly the same. We can't possibly be sheep, it's impossible to not be an individual.

Because of the people we've known and left behind, because of the kind of love we've felt, because of the tragedy we've endured, every single person has a different limit to what will fire up their rage or drown them in tears. I just think it's amazing, like as a species we are so advanced mentally and psychologically that there aren't really basic patterns that you could follow to figure someone out. And there are more emotions and feelings than necessarily needed. But we have them, we have the ability to feel so strongly, to the point where our bodies can't contain it all and have to flush it out with tears.

In Spanish we have a saying: El ladrón juzga por su propia condición.

It roughly translates to: The thief is always decrying thievery.

No, we're not sheep (or sheeple) in the context that you present in the above blog. The accusation of sheepleness is often one of insecurity on the part of the denouncer. Insecurity in doing something different. Insecurity in the reasons others do what they do. You're correct in that each of us is as different, one from another, as a puppy is from a pogo-stick, and this sometimes presents people with a conundrum of how to engage others when they overthink this paradigm. Defensiveness is an easy repair to such feeling, so... others are clearly sheep in the eye of that beholder.
