DH Hanni

Hi, my name is DH Hanni and I'm new to creative writing. I've been writing for about 2 years and originally started writing during my lunch hour. I quickly discovered how wonderful and freeing it felt to put down story ideas I've had in my head down on paper. I never fully grasped the notion that deep down I was a writer. I don't know it started but I've always created stories in my head, even edited scenes in my head, and occasionally would jot the idea down. I always that that would be a good story for someone else to write. Then it dawned on me that only I could write the story. So here I am.
I am primarily interested in historical fiction, in particular novels. It's my favorite genre to read but I have also dabbled in fantasy/paranormal and general fiction. Pretty much I got where the characters want to go.
I've already had a couple of short stories published, one that has already come out on an online magazine, and the other that should be coming out in the fall 2013 in an anthology.

I love watching football and hockey. My favorite teams are the San Francisco 49ers, Nevada Wolfpack (alma mater), Tri-City Americans (local WHL team), and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
I enjoy cooking and eating especially Asian fare. I volunteer at a local food bank. I love movies and TV and my favorite shows are Game of Thrones, Dexter, The Following, Top Gear, Sherlock, Copper, The Big Bang Theory, Archer, and It's Always Sunny. For movies, I mainly love comedies with the occasional well-acted and well-written drama. And of course, I love to read.
