I dropped a novel over the transom at St. Martin's Press back in the 1980's and they published it! Talk about dumb luck.
The next two were published by Carroll & Graf, via an agent. One got a terrific revue in the Sunday NYT.
The next few didn't get picked up,and I found greener pastures in the world of ceramics.
Now that I am a government certified geezer I am once more enjoying the fantasy of becoming a published author. I hope the advances are better than they were 30 years ago!
