I grew up with my little brother in the mountains of Laurel, Montana, where the summers were so hot that the earth cracked, and the winters were white and cold. We had horses and dogs and the occasional hamster. When I was ten, we moved to Oregon to be with our family and take care of our grandma. That was the reason my mom gave us, but I learned the truth years later: we simply couldn't afford the beautiful mountain home that my dad built for us. I hated Oregon. There was no snow in the winter, and the summers were horridly humid. A new school meant no friends for a long, long time. I was very shy when I was little, and still am. I think that is how I found writing.
I started writing stories in fifth grade, and had my first book written by seventh grade. In eighth grade, I made an account on this very website and participated actively for about a year. When I hit my tenth year of high school, I abandoned all of my projects to focus on school, but the few English teachers who did get to see my writing were wowed, and they convinced me that I have a gift that I cannot let go to waste. Now I am in college, and I'm still writing, but not as often as I should be. I recently found the notes on some of my high school honors projects from those English teachers. I had forgotten all of what I'd done. Their words have really motivated me to keep trying. I think this is my passion. It's something I can see myself doing for life.Interact
