It's not my fault I'm an egotist.

Growing up in Kentucky I was raised with some rather obsessive religious views which resulted in a backlash still simmering to this day. Ergo, I harbor a special disdain for religion, though hold individual spirituality in high regard, though not spiritual myself.

I grew up in a divorced family. My stepfather is a civil engineer, and my mother a registered nurse. My Father was a Captain in the United States Army, specifically commanding field artillery.

I hadn't seen my Father in years, and when we met again I realized just how potent genetics really is. I'm nothing like my mother, though sharing an interest in the hard sciences like my stepfather, the lion share of everything that I am comes from my Father.

Without prior knowledge:

We both majored in political science, both have a passion for geopolitics and international relations. We both enjoy reading science fiction, and more specifically both love the work of Arthur C. Clarke. We're both Democratic Socialists, students of Nietzsche, Marx, and Machiavelli, and both understand diplomacy has nothing to do with preventing war.

You may hate your parents, but the reality is we are all at least the sum of all our parts. To be more than that? Good luck.
