I've always wanted to a writer since I was thirteen years old and wrote a story about unicorns. I did most of my writing when I was in high school and even played with the idea of going to school to learn to become a writer. I was told that writers didn't make a lot of money and struggled a lot in life, so I decided to drop the dream and life took me in a direction and didn't think about it much.
But then I became very ill in 2003 and received a double lung transplant. I went back to school and had to drop out because my health was a lot more delicate than I thought.
I even tried to work as a front clerk at a library but this didn't work so well and then I discovered I only had fifty percent of my lung function left I should just stop working on being a "normal" person and start looking at making sure my health was ok.
I still needed something to do and started considering writing a book. I mean, it's not like I had anything else to do.
I was extremely lucky to find a woman who went to the library regularly and to whom we had become friends said she would help me learn how to write. This is extremely exciting to me but sometimes there are things that I need help with that she can't necessarily help with so I'm hoping I'll get a little bit of help with certain things.
