    What compells you to write?
I have a neuron that loves to tell stories and draw.

    Why do you write?
I obey my neuron. I hate when he doesn't allow me to sleep and start talking about the amazing scenes and chars he invented.

What makes you write what you write?
Maybe a lack of stories in the type that I like. Or I want to say the things that I believe. But I always try to combine the story with a lot of drawings.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
    Good books and good movies.

    What Do You Write?
Science fiction and fantasy, but I can go to mystery or comedy (romantic or satire) too. All in my style: a script of a movie with lots of cgi (I tried to make comics too, but it's too much work for only one person) :p

    What compels you to write?
It's a means of getting stuff off my chest. I'm quite an introverted person so it's a great way of being reflective.

    Why do you write?
Because it's always interesting to read my take on past events once I have written them. Stuff which I remember vividly translated to paper. It's almost like when I read a history book, or an autobiography, and the best part is when I see the authors interpretation of a well documented event.

What makes you write what you write?
Because it's the closest I will ever get to revisiting past events. In a way it's almost like a form of time travel. Hard to explain, but when I take a break from writing, be it to have a cigarette or whatever, it feels like the event that I have just been writing about took place moments previously. A strange but pretty awesome sensation.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
I'm not sure. I've always enjoyed writing. Back in Primary School when we would be given little tasks to write short stories and the like, I enjoyed it. I've also been in a few bands and lyric writing is always fun. English was also my strongest subject in school. Basically, I feel like it is a talent of mine and that I should use it to my advantage.

    What do you write?
I'm currently writing a series of memoirs about a time period in my life between the ages of 16 and 20.

    What compels you to write?
Getting immersed in ones mind is a great way to "escape from reality" for a little bit, if I may.
(or sometimes you end up intensifying that "reality", consciously or not.)

    Why do you write?
Because I love exploring my own mind. It's like diving into a huge ocean, and trying to find some hidden treasure. It may take you a long time, but when you manage to come out to the surface with some old pirate chest full of gold, it's just plain wonderful.

What makes you write what you write?
I think we all learn things when we write, about what we write but also about ourselves.
I think I write mainly because of my own uncertainty, I write to find answers about myself and to learn about my own process of thought. Is almost a journey of self discovery, as clichéd as it may sound :p

What Made you decide you liked to write?
Writing is just one of the many forms of art, and I love and practice a lot of them. But, somehow, I feel better writing than doing anything else. I play music, and I paint/draw, among others, but writing is more rewarding for me than anything else. There's just something magic about it.

    What Do You Write?
I think I love to write anything. I, of course, have a preference, which is fiction, but I love to write about almost anything.

1 . The only reason I write is because I like to. I don't plan on making it a career or anything like that. Writing is calming and gets my brain working. And, it's just fun.

    2. The only thing that compels me to write is having an idea of a story and putting it down on paper.

    3. Everything. Seeing all that I see and hearing all that I hear, I translate it into a story. My own mental creation.

    4. The first time I began writing was in the sixth grade. I can't say that I won a competition or anything like that, but feeling the ideas flow into the paper made me feel good. So I just stuck with it.

    5. I like to write fictional stories. I mostly like to write first person works because I want readers to be able to envision themselves as this person. I also like to write scriptural type works because they're just fun and simple. I either stick with three different fantasy eras: medieval with magic, modern day zombie apocalypse or modern day military stories, and futuristic stories. I choose fantasy because there are no better stories than the ones that haven't or cannot happen.

    What compells you to write?

Nothing really compells me I just do it.

    Why do you write?

It's a way to escape the "big bad world" just me and my keyboard or pen & paper. :)

What makes you write what you write?

Depends on what I feel, whatever I feel I just write if I get a spark of creativity I'll hurry and scribble it down.
Like I have an app called "My diary" and whenever I think of an idea or think of a funny saying I just type it in there and save maybe I could use it for my next story you just never know.

What Made you decide you liked to write?

When I was in middle school I was bullied by most of my classmates the whole 7th grade year. It was misery for me and of course I felt very angry and saddened about then one day I just put pen to paper and spilled all my emotions onto it. However the silver lining I won a writing contest and got to show fox news around our school and it was on the news. Along with that I got tickets to hear Bill Cosby speak when he came to visit Milwaukee, WI and that was a big deal because besides basketball nothing happens in that city. Then there was a class trip to Chicago and while we were getting the bus to go home my parents showed up I was shocked, the other kids went back home. I got to spend the whole weekend in Chicago. That was my first time visiting another state.

    What Do You Write?

Well most of my writings from middle school are really emotional and sorta dark, then later in high school I began writing short stories somewhat related to my real life experiences. Say for instance if I didn't like how my real life situation was turning out or I wished I had said something in that moment I'd write down what happened and make it how I wanted it to turn out. Now I am working on my first novel(two actually) but one is a prequel to the first. I'm working a fanfiction of The Godfather and a short story.

I started my writing extravagance when I was 12 years old. But before that I was a 9 year old penning out pages for a video game. A bit strange, I know. What compelled me to write, was after reading a novel by Stephen King. His book was what inspired me into writing horror as apart of a career I wished to pursue. I am STILL a horror writer and I aim to be published someday, and so far it's looking good. I write because it is a beautiful thing to me, is to get out my thoughts of fantasy onto the paper and be proud of its merit. The horror genre truly has merit to it.

What compels me to write is an addiction to writing.

    Why do you write?
Because I love it more than anything else in the world, even sex.

What makes you write what you write?
Emotion and pure narcissism are what makes me write.

When I read Sylvia Plath, I knew writing was for me.

I write poetry and prose. They all deal with philosophy and the sadness of life.

    What compells you to write?

Simply because I love writing and I want to be like those whose stories I read.

    Why do you write?

Because of a feeling. I know I'm gonna sound like something out of a really corny "Follow your heart" type of novel but when I write it affects me like nothing else in the world ever does. I feel every emotion running through the story. When the character is angry my fist clenches. When the character is scared I start to shiver and my heart beats faster. I can even totally fall in love with the main character's love interest. The other day I killed off a minor character after building up a story for them and I almost cried at the guilt I felt at his poor girlfriend who would be left behind. This feeling alone is why I write, and it can really help me forget about problems in the outside world.

What makes you write what you write?

I have read stories about ordinary people who have ordinary problems (like a romance-y kind of novel) and, while I can enjoy them, there is something much more epic about science-fiction or fantasy. My imagination is bursting with ideas and those ideas are usually science-fiction or fantasy because that is what I have read most of and I love the thought of being able to create whole worlds full of creatures that me and my mind have created.

What Made you decide you liked to write?

I went to a Roald Dahl Museum when I was about seven years old. I loved it and I started to read his books. I loved them and started to read other books, like Harry Potter and now I have read lots of books, most of which make the likes of Harry Potter seem rather average. And now I want to be like those whose stories I love.

    What Do You Write?

I like to write Science Fiction or Fantasy usually because it makes me feel more like I am in control of my own little world.

    What compells you to write?

What doesn't? The entire universe is the petri dish of the imagination.

    Why do you write?

To express emotional and intellectual energy that lies in my own mind which I find difficult to express in other ways.

What makes you write what you write?

A deep fascination with the mysteries of life and the universe.

What Made you decide you liked to write?

I've loved reading and using my imagination for years. All of my primary/elementary and high school teachers seemed to be really impressed with my writing ability, so I gave it a go and I loved it.

    What Do You Write?

    Non-Fiction, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Poetry.

If you want to read a story that doesn't exist: write it.

To be honest my inspiration for wanting to become an author happened in my year 10 science class. I had always liked creative writing tasks in school but I had never thought to do it in my own time. Anyway, so in science (I hate science) we were writing essays about the good and bad things about genetic manipulation. In a flash of inspiration I thought of a story idea, of a world destroyed by taking science too far. And thus I gained a desire to create an epic fantasy tale of such.

I am similar in that I like to always have a scientific basis to my stories i.e. a boy with the power of self multiplication because he has control of the mitosis in his body. The difference is that I lie science.

To be honest I just thought it would be an original basis for a fantasy story. :p

I like writing because only in a sheet of paper I can create worlds. Create my own characters.
It is also a way to expresarce.
    I love writing.

    What compels you to write?

My mind. Being reading some book drives me to want to make one (not literally, just write) I also boosts the challenge of improving on everything I can.
    Why do you write?
Because it's my hobby and it's the only way I sympto well.
What Made you decide you liked to write?

honestly that my younger sister likes me a letter which I did. At first, it would have 14 years, I never crossed the idea of writing. But one day, it occurred to me to write a chapter of a crazy idea. I showed it to my sister, I liked the reaction that took and tell me he likes me and that he hoped the next chapter, I began to write.
    What Do You Write?

For now what I'm good, you would: Adventure, Suspense/Mystery, Sc-Fi, Comedy and now try the Fantasy.

I totally agree with the text I have in bold. Since I started creative writing four years ago, I know its what I've always meant to be doing. All paths have lent me here (here being the writing process and not this forum LOL)
Also we've never really grown up because we're never so happy as when we're living in our own fantasy world(s)

    1. Any idea that pops into my mind. It's easy for me to take a small idea, and let it snowball.
    2. Because it allows me to bring to life what's in my head.
    3. The idea of realizing my own iterations of established concepts and ideas.
    4. I honestly don't know.
    5. Mainly fictional stories in a roleplaying universe. I started a roleplay based on an alternate of the Naruto manga series (here), which I've been a fan of for a long time. The prospect of finding other like-minded writers here willing to create something with real depth to it is what brought me here.

    I write because I'd go insane if I didn't.

Mainly, I write to understand people. Through my characters I am able to "play out" scenarios that can affect me in real life...

More humorously, it also allows me the ability to ask all sorts of questions and when people look at me like I am insane, I just smile and say that I am a writer. Once brought a huge stack of books on mushrooms to class. Teacher asked why. Told her I was studying how to poison someone. Though she was going to have a heart attack. Luckily was allowed to explain before she called security.

I just do... I'm in the bus or at work & I get this idea in my head... The words start flowing and I just need to write them down... sometimes I just do to get away from real life when I feel like I'm being pushed into a corner.. like I'm being caged... It's either write or hurt myself or other people so I write..

I began to write because I was good at it. When you're in your younger teenage years, you latch onto those things others say you're good at. Still in that stage of searching for who you are and what you will grow to be. Honestly, as I look back, I wasn't that great... but I was better than my peers.

After a point of time where I discovered that my love for writing relied on my egoic sense of self, rather than my interest and passion, I let it go. For several months I made the decision that I would become a teacher. Then, I got bored one day. I felt like I needed attention and admiration for something, so I decided to write a story. It wasn't that good, in the end, but I fell back in love with the process. I realized that I had settled for teaching because I had stopped believing I could write something others would want to read.

That is not to say teaching is lesser than writing, but it was for me. Writing was what I really wanted to do, and as soon as I discovered that and grew to appreciate it at another level, I decided that I would write. I did not know for how long, how successful I might become - but I knew that I was going to be a writer one way or the other.

Some days I don't want to write. Like many things in the past, as soon as I decided that writing was my calling, I began to procrastinate. I realized that I am passionate about writing, but not all of the time. I am creative and can write beautifully, but don't always want to. Then it occurred to me that, no matter what you choose to do with your life, there will be days when you'd rather do something else. That's when I figured that, if I had to run from anything only to return to it again and again, I'd rather it be writing than anything else. Then I was sold.

What compells you to write? It makes me feel good to write something that afterwards, when I read it, It doesnt sound too bad ;) and that makes me wanna do it again. Also, and I bet a lot of people who write or Express themselves in some creative way, feels this way soemtimes.. like their head might explode from thoughts and ideas- thats why I write.. as an outlet.

    Why do you write?
Its fun and its challenging. Also its a way to tell people what you see in the World. To me, its an interpretation of my reality. I see something in the World and I want to explain it, first to myself and when I sometimes (not always) show what I write to others, it is also, in that way, to explain to them what I see in the World.

What makes you write what you write?
often, like I said above, its a way for me to interpret my reality, to make sense of something. But also, its because I love imagining characters and scenes and just having fun with creating ;)

What Made you decide you liked to write?
I dont think I decided along the way, I just always liked it.

    What Do You Write?
Stories and poems. Often fantasy stories with lots of metaphors, I love those. I write in Images or analogies alot, because this is a good way for me to understand something which is maybe more abstract in nature.

The best way for me to answer these questions is this:

I've done many terrible things in my life and left a lot of casualties in my wake. While this was ongoing, I never fully grasped just how truly deplorable I was and how much I was hurting people I cared for. Ultimately, when everything came crashing down, I realized what I had done and was overcome by the guilt.

To this day and for the rest of my life that guilt will never fully fade away, however; there are times when I forget its there. For example, when I'm with my daughter, it all kind of slips to the back of my mind seemingly out of reach.

Writing seems to have a similar therapeutic effect on me and I appreciate that; more than most people could ever understand.
