Today I had the chance to do one of the things that's been on my to-do list since... forever. I got to fly in a glider! It was absolutely unforgettable, my next goal is to actually be the pilot, maybe I can go for a license next summer. Getting my parachute strapped on... Thank God I didn't have to use it! Me, because really, how many chances do you get to snap a selfie in a glider? View from the glider.
Wow @Lydia what was it like? I love the concept of the naturalness of it. Is it quiet? Did you get any video of the flight? I have an online friend who has raced them (with some shit scary stories!!), and also been intrigued by the morning glory cloud that rolls in in northern Australia which is a popular gliding destination.
It was really great! The weather was nice and sunny, but actually not optimal for flying, because lack of clouds = lack of thermal wind. However, it was still a beautiful flight. It was more quiet than I had imagined, I still had some noise because I had a tiny window opened for some fresh air (it was pretty hot up there). I didn't think of filming it, but my sister has some video I think, maybe I can get it from her. Flying a glider is "easier" than I thought it would be, since it requires just a joystick and pedals. The pilot let me fly- he controlled the pedals, and I had to operate the joystick. While it takes just those two things, it's really not so easy to get all the movements as you like. Guess I'll have to play some more flight simulator games. Wow, I can't imagine racing them! That cloud seems like a super cool place to fly though, just a little far from me.
Found yesterday, by chance, as I was doing some yard work. Up to this point this tree that was felled a couple of years ago in a short but violent storm represented only laziness on my part for not cutting it up and placing it in the compost pile. Left to her own devices, nature does a much more elegant and poetic job of handling her business.
Yes, be jealous everyone. Mini wf-meetup in Brussels! Really hope to meet this awesome girl again soon.
Yes! She was in the neighborhood, and I just had to grab the opportunity of meeting her. It was awesome.
Just something I drummed up quickly thanks to google image search and MS Paint. I like to call this: A Newbie's Introduction to Serious Discussion/Debate Forums. View attachment 6712 EDIT: As for things not done via taking photos from the internet and editing them via MS Paint, here are some actual stuff I drew on that program: Spoiler This was for a contest from the Zelda forum I'm on. We were to caption/draw our own version of various Zelda screenshots. This was my interpretation of Oracle of Ages Link taking the Triforce. Spoiler Spoiler These are actually, um, scenes from a very early version of my fantasy that I attempted to draw as a comic on MS Paint. Sometimes I just like drawing out my stories. Even though the art style is horrid. Spoiler Not sure if I posted it here yet, but a year ago or so, there was talk/debate on whether or not Link should be a girl in the next Zelda game. This was my response to that. I drew Goku as a female, though I apparently failed with Link as...yeah. Still, Goku if he were a woman! By the way, all of y'all's photos look stunning and beautiful. Awesome stuff.
I've posted a similar one some time ago. It seems that since everything is made in China, these pop up everywhere in the world https://www.writingforums.org/threads/taverns-member-picture-gallery.9830/page-476#post-1282399
Here is a couple pictures from Christmas 2013. (Kinda big so spoilers and also not best quality but yeah) Never really noticed this picture thread (or well forgot) Spoiler: CHRISTMAS!!!
My seven-year-old son adores Doctor Who, and as a reward for getting a 104 (!) on his spelling test, he wanted to decorate Doctor Who cupcakes. We got pretty into it.
Not really a picture : https://www.google.com/maps/@36.582...4!1sJHYjOPjZyOTYLq02CcjYog!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Spoiler: The boring reality This was left there after a concrete mixer's accident because the concrete hardened in it. Someone used it in a clever way
My cat caught another common worm snake (a.k.a. blind snake). First time he caught one I thought it was a super big night crawler, but nope, it was a little chibi snake. You have to look super close at his teeny face to know what he is. I let him go after I put the cat in the house in order to give him a chance to burrow down under the grass and get away. For the sake of folks sensitive to the idea of seeing a super cute little snake, spoiler tag. Spoiler: Chibi Snake!
Since I can't post a gif as an avatar, I thought you all might like to see what my avatar actually looks like. I was in an odd mood.
Oddly, though, if someone clicks on your avatar and gets the little window with your information that Xenforoâ„¢ calls your "member card", the animation of your .gif does work.
