I like the cleverness of the name and the sound of the song melancauliflower muchly. Am planning to purchase Reason soonish, do you mind sharing your music creation software of choice? And do you do it all on computer or have a midi keyboard / instrument setup as well?
so cool seeing all the cool things you guys do. i've dabbled in visual arts and music for a long time. the visual stuff i'm not too skilled at but music i think i'm pretty good. i've made several albums with several people, but don't have access to most of them anymore. i hardly make music anymore, sadly. i also consider a lot of the political activism stuff i've done in the last 3 years to be an artform in and of itself, hard to explain that.
Thank you for your kind comments Aaron, and @OurJud. Aaron, that particular track was made on Ableton Live, though Pro Tools would be the DAW of choice these days. It's a work-flow thing really. I use an M-Audio Axiom 61 midi keyboard and a couple of guitars. Reason is very user-friendly.
Yeah right. I am looking to get a Nektar but probably a Nektar 4. I looked at the M-Audio 49 and 61 and a couple of others and nearly decided on the M-Audio 49 but then found the Nektar and it has good reviews (if you can find them) and positive feedback from someone else. Hopefully the store I go to has both and I can hit the keys before I purchase.
I get it. They are just brand names though. Like discussing Ford or Holden (Vauxhal) when deciding which car to purchase. 49 or 61 indicates the number of keys on the keyboard.
Cool impressionism! Unfortunately the eye just gets dragged into the tower on the right and stays there. There's nothing to pull it out. I would suggest adding a little more yellow in the water on the lower left in order to let the eye really move around the picture.
I draw off and on. And no I will not share it as I am self conscious about my drawing. (use to give away pieces back in high school) Write some music on a free mixing site, but will not share that either cause I am self-conscious about that too.
Not sure that it's an appreciated art form in the mainstream world, but I maintain that I create art on people's heads. It's a love/hate relationship, just like writing.
As I mentioned is a previous post..., I’m approaching 70 ! As such, the URL below is no longer publicity ! An 18carat watch for Madonna on the left..., me on the right. Not me in the centre..., lol ! http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/3668/woodmacarthur.jpg
Seems like I’m unable to modify my post ! PS for the above: Diamonds / sapphires / emeralds / cultured pearls / gold and manufacturing..., elements very often found in many stories. If anyone needs any info concerning the trade, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
This thread is a bit bittersweet for me. I started messing around with a camera around the same time I started writing. I have issues with memory loss and concentration and it was an uphill battle to write anything for several months as my attention kept straying back to my cameras and Photoshop. As a consequence, I haven't written anything fresh in months, save for the odd rant on Facebook. Playing with images does the complete opposite to writing in that I seem to be able to come up with half decent images despite my state of mind. Writing started to feel like it was a waste of my free time and while I refuse to accept that I'm done with writing, it's been put firmly on the back burner for the time being. My artwork tends to be a bit hit and miss but I don't mind as I enjoy getting out and about sourcing new pics and ideas. It was a pic of mine that was used as the prompt for the summer writing competition and I started to realise that many of my pics have the potential to tell stories, so hopefully at some point the desire to tell those stories will guide me back into writing again.
Just for fun I recently started a humorous sports news "blog" Doesn't get much in the way of traffic, but I have a lot of fun with it: http://whiteglovesports.davidjonesa...rs-make-roger-goodell-eat-things-to-keep-job/
I'm not sure if this counts as a "creation" since I put very little effort into it, but here is some reptile genocide. Sorry about the horrible collapse in mood at 2:18. I have no control over what SomaFM plays.
This was my effort at some Hauntology - for those of you aware of the genre. The premise for this was that a German psychiatrist had once done some experimentations and believed he could record a person's dreams. These three are what they are. In other words I'm not really sure myself.
I put up our Christmas tree at work. I think you'll agree it's quite special. Why yes, I did make the tinsel myself!
I dabble with a lot of different things without committing much to any of them. I've recorded a few albums (in my basement, nothing professional), though the songwriting is definitely shoddy. I'd say out of all the songs I've written, maybe 10-15% of them are worth mentioning. I've also used the RPG Maker games to create a few games of my own, though again the quality is incredibly wanting. Though it certainly was cool to have one of my RPG Maker games Let's Played. Never did much with visual art--I can't draw worth a damn--though I would like to try my hand at doing a comic book (however short), just to see if I can. That's about it, I think.
