In other news its our turn next - however a) its going to miss us, and b) its only a class 1 so in the south west we can expect gale force if that. Of course the daily express expects it to be worse that Puerto Rico, but they also expected us to all die of ebola (for the american reader the express is bascally the national enquirer)

Mom: So remember you'll have to catch the train after work to go down to visit the cousins.

Me: Oh no. I'm going to have to talk to them, aren't I? They're gonna ask those boring yet prying small-talk sort of questions . . . On a scale of one-to-ten, how snarky can I be?

    Mom: Zero.

Me: That's not on the scale of one-to-ten.

    Dad: What's this?

Mom: She's trying to be sarcasitc with the family.

Me: I asked on a scale of one-to-ten how sassy I can be in replying to their questions, and she said zero.

Dad: But that's not on a scale of one-to-ten.

Me: See? I need to be able to respond to their queries about where I plan to live with "There's this very nice bit of real estate beneath the overpass I quite like that would be just perfect with the right cardboard box. Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll be able to afford the cardboard box right away. . ."

Dad: You should ask them if they have a spare one about that you can have.

Mom: . . . she obviously gets this from you.

Ok I just saw this news article headline and HAD to share it. It makes no sense to me whatsoever... and I haven't read the article yet.

"Lawsuit: Idaho Father Killed By Doomsday Prepper Deputy In Bull Euthanasia Gone Awry"

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/m/c4f69ea0-4cb9-3487-bcc3-89841905e0ce/ss_lawsuit:-idaho-father-killed.html

Edit: It's actually a sad story... which I never expected from the headline. :(

We humans must have a conspiracy theory to believe in or we are not happy. So in that case we must make something up or at least thats what it looks like to me.
We have had so many sad things occur in the last few short weeks and someone, somewhere has to put a spin on it no matter how true or false.
Just this morning read an article about the rampant wildfires of California being caused by something much more sinister than lightening or human error. Couple of weeks ago it was the multiple shooter concept in Las Vegas which reminded me of all the Dallas book depository conspiracies. Weeks prior, it was Donald Trump caused the hurricanes or was that Hillary. We are out of control people! So frustrating!

If you have FB, check this guy out, he is just 1 of many going viral.

Santa Rosa, CA fires show Molten Aluminum running down the sidewalk as highly flammable pine trees still have green leaves on them. Cars melted into the street with green vineyards just feet away. Granite counter tops, Porcelain toilets, Stone & Brick fireplaces all turned to dust. Auto Glass is vaporized (2600 F melting pt) Something very unnatural happened here. Normal Wild fires dont do this.. but Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs) do!!

Aluminum melts at 1221 F, so it is possible to melt it if the fire
is hot enough. But since that guy doesn't think that a fire can
reach such high temps, it must be Aliens with a vendetta against
    tire rims. :p

Basically an idea in my head -- an aged Amos and his friends meet Louis Braille (inventor of Braille.) It'd be cool to have Amos meet the guy who inspired me to write about Amos at all. :D :v

I was always disappointed that none of my girlfriends' fathers tried this. I would have ended up spending the evening chatting with Dad about guns, of course, but....

Maybe I shouldn't take country customs from TV shows; Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Friends in particular, but can anyone explain why during American Halloween parties, it's considered normal to wear costumes that are not related to horror in any way shape or form?

As long as I've been dressing up for Halloween (>40 years), any sort of costume has been okay. As a very young child, I was a cat, then Batman (same black hat with ears both years), a pirate one year, a soldier once in junior high school, a normal person my senior year of high school (my daily dress then was torn jeans and a green mohawk, so for Halloween I borrowed boat shoes and a polo shirt and feathered my hair back). Now I tend towards extreme horror costumes, but most of the young Japanese women prefer to wear "Sexy [insert profession here]" costumes from the store.

@Iain Aschendale - yes but why? In an episode of Friends there is Sputnik the satellite, a white rabbit, Supergirl and a nurse. What have any of these got to do with Halloween???

I assumed that "sexy Judge Judy" was something that Bob's Burgers made up, but Googling suggests that I'm wrong...

Don't know for sure, but I've got two theories.
    1) Parents started dressing their kids as "scary" things and the kids didn't like it, so it slowly morphed to dress as whatever you want.
    2) Somebody dressed as a clown to fuck with the coulrophobes, which got misunderstood by normal people, so they started dressing as whatever they wanted to.
