Yeah, that's pretty fucking horrible. True, they wanted to work for the most evil boss they could, but they kept all of them safely in the past.
I'm kid at heart so I scare prank my girlfriend quite often with improvised booby traps and ambush her at times with a plush dart gun. Fortunately she thinks I'm pretty and cute, otherwise she would have killed me long before now.
Slavery - Having to do life's basic thing such as work and paying taxes. Edit: oops! This post was for a different thread, LOL. Didn't realize I click on this one, so let me give us a shot!
Neat old thread. Odd things about me— My big toe is shorter than the one next to it. I scribble notes to myself, then leave them around the house by mistake. They collect in big piles. Every time I go to the store (any store) I look for plants to buy. Bulbs, flowers, seeds. Horror movies make me feel frisky for some reason. I usually end up making out with my husband about halfway through. He’s okay with it. I get sunburned constantly because I love being outside but hate sunscreen. Pet snakes do not have souls, and I cannot be convinced otherwise. Something only has a soul if it can love you, and reptiles do not.
When I sniff my nose goes inwards. I have a little whole above each ear. I was born with them. I hate noisy hand dryers, and have to use them in such a way that I can see all doorways whilst I dry, because I have some bizarre concern that someone will come upto me and scare me, and I won't hear them cos the dryer is so loud...I think! I get annoyed walking behind vehicles that then pull out. It means I walked an extra distance unnecessarily. I get disturbed thinking about forks getting stuck in people's teeth. I have a little toe that stopped growing when I was a toddler. It's only 2cm long. I've only ever broken one bone in my body. It was my middle toe, and it occured from running into a pile of catalogues. I had a craving for clamping my teeth on a wet sponge when I was pregnant with my first daughter, which I indulged in frequently. During her birth it was discovered that I have a second cervix, but it doesn't go anywhere. It's like a small pocket. I had an urge to brush my tongue when I was pregnant with my second daughter. I have spent most of my life from the age of 15 in a relationship. I work out how much words are worth in Scrabble when I see them written on road signs or adverts. People get confused when I sneeze, because they don't know what's happening. I make a strange noise, apparently. The sun makes me sneeze, and artificial light can bring on a sneeze if one gets stuck!
This is known as Morton's toe or Greek toe (the opposite is Egyptian toe, apparently based on how sculptors from the two cultures depicted the human foot)
Don't ask why I know, but I've known a couple foot fetishists. One of them was absolutely repulsed by Greek feet, but the other thought they were the divine height of perfection. Spoiler Dan Savage says that the more common a fetish is, the less likely it is to be recognized as such. Mine are so vanilla they're still in the bean.
I prefer not to use utensils to eat, if practical. This only really stands out when I'm eating with my Korean in-laws because they eat everyyythiiiing with chopsticks and I look like a caveman. Also, this proclivity of mine is at odds with another quirk, which is that I hate when my fingers smell like food. I wear disposable rubber gloves when I peel and chop garlic. The reason I'm picky about smells on my fingers is because I unconsciously sniff them all the time. In general, I'm a very smell-oriented person. I have a sensitive nose and I love pleasant smells. I sniff my husband's head and face all the time.
I'm terrible at studying at home or even in quiet areas like a library. Trading that peace and quiet, I learn best whilst on a train ride. Specifically a long one not confined to a tunnel. Thankfully NYC has many trains that travel outside, so if its not late and I need to study something, a train ride is quite feasible.
In spite of being darkly-inclined, I'm too sensitive to violence and death to endure many horror films or comics. I do, however, very much enjoy reading horror novels, even if they portray violence. I suppose I'm weird that way.
I used to sleep with two dummies (pacifiers) when I was young. One in my mouth, and the other on my closed eyelid! I sniff a lot of things too, @Dragon Turtle For some reason I will repeatedly sniff things I don't like the smell of. I trust my nose in regards to food or drink. If my nose says yuck, I don't try it. As a result, I don't eat most fish, bacon, steak, burgers...most meat really. I'm grossed out by the idea of eating meat off a bone. Sometimes I know things before they occur-visitors, phone calls, buses, being offered a lift. I hate melons and tea. I love the smell of coffee, but don't drink it. I don't like not being in control of myself, so I don't do drugs or drink. I've been hungover once in my life, and it was horrific (I was dating an alcoholic at the time). Never again! I'm also a light-weight regarding alcohol, which seems to come from my mum's side of the family. I was named after a plant (so technically not my quirk), and my surname was an alcoholic beverage-I kid you not! I have since changed my name, understandably. I used to hug a tree on my way to secondary school (high school). My fourth toe on my right foot is very curved, but the one on my left foot is much straighter. I love spelling. @ThunderAngel My mind is also drawn to the darker side of things. I love the Scream films, and would watch them a lot. I found them comforting somehow. Nowadays I don't watch those films anymore cos I jump so much when watching them (not the Scream films), and I don't like gore for the sake of it. I would like to know more about the killer in the film creep. I felt an interesting backstory was there that was never told.
I wish I could say the same, but I don't have a smart phone. Me and technology don't exactly see eye-to-eye. I had a smartphone once, and it didn't last a month with me. I killed it deliberately cos it p*ssed me off. I call them smart-a**e phones! I once broke a different mobile after an argument with my then bf-I snapped it in half. I have deliberately thrown previous mobiles when angry too. I have multiple lumps on my head. They are sebaceous cysts. They are gross, and they are genetic. Thanks dad! They can be removed, but it won't stop me growing more elsewhere. In short, my body is one big genetic c*ck up. I faint when I have vaccines, blood taken, contraceptives implanted. I have a hole in my right shin from tripping up an escalator as a kid (one with the spikes). It was never stitched. I was running up it to get a dinosaur style tamagotchi (that shows my age well).
Saxifrage Ouzo... I've been searching for you for a long time, and you drop yourself right here in my figurative lap...
You got me @Iain Aschendale ! Always a good idea to talk with your characters, so they don't go off script @Cave Troll .
What pretty flowers! Saxifrage is pretty cool as a name, I think. I like making up names for characters, or using name generators when I can't think of the right one. I hate the texture of beef. I had a strong aversion to Cumin when pregnant with my second daughter, and could only eat dairy for the first 3 months when pregnant with my first daughter. My brain is a bit like a smarta*se phone. If it sees certain words or phrases, it will start playing a song based on it. Like with my recent story idea about the sun. It not only started singing 'the sun will come out tomorrow', it also gave the MC the name Annie!
I start coughing when using an earbud in my right ear only. I've been told I make kitten noises in my sleep, and that I smell like wool. I have a fear that someone will try and grab me through the broken front door of a derelict house in the town. I hate sloths and slugs. Perhaps I should get someone to study me as I have a lot of medical obscurities!
My scalp is really itchy when I break a sweat. It is rather maddening when you're trying to get into better shape.
