Oh I never noticed that. So why does he do it that way? I mean, why pull his eyelid down with his middle finger and say that, rather than just give him the finger?
So... I have been dwelling on this for a while. and though this isn't really a not happy post, I"m putting it here because A. Not sure where to put it and B. Since I can't remember the movie titles, do to it being a longtime ago and I being a child, I'm putting it here. But anyways, as a kiddo, I am going to guess these movies are from the 80s and 90s. I watched some movies, who for the life of me I can't seem to find... nor do I have a clue. Some guesses but no clue. Of course they could have also been highly detailed dreams that I am passing off as movies. which has happened. So anyway. Move 1: Some dudes dressed in some funky leather space (I think space) outfits, the outfits looked like something out of a Micheal Jackson music video. are going through a temple whose theme is snakes, but there are several traps set up, and slowly one by one they get killed by these traps. One of them sits in a chair which locks him in and raises him on his piller where he gets impaled by a snake spear. And I can't fully remember the rest. Move 2: I believe it was vampires. But a group of vampires, I think one is a human, is hiding in a old gas station with the windows covered up. When hunters show up, they try to escape in a van that has it's windows covered except for the driver, which is why I believe one of them was human. but the deaths were pretty fucking grusome as they their skin would tear apart as they went into the sunlight, blood and fire would spew from the wounds. Move 3: Some military personnel or something is held up in the middle of a desert (at least I believe it to be a desert), where outside are these 7.4 ft bipedal creatures that i'm calling Gargoyles. They have pale skin with rips that show muscle underneath. cant' remember the faces. But anyways, they keep trying to get into the bunker these people are in. eventually they discovered that the creatures are sensitive to a highpitched sound. And use it to escape the bunker, and then watch as these creatures enter the bunker and blow it up. (It may have been part of a series of stories like Outter Limtis, not sure) So that is it, there is a third one but it's even more vague information, where she seems to be on the lower level of a school or something, and she is facing some sort of portal that closes she then turnes as some dude comes down the stares holding a (That flower you take to prom, I can't fucking spell it, ) . anyways then it switches to a dark room, where some girl dressed in a prom dress hugs a dude. and I fell back asleep.
Yeah, watched a trailer... the blonde vampire looks like the one from my memory, so that maybe it. . One movie down. ETA: Yeah, watched some clips, I believe it is Near Dark, though damn those vampires are shitty shots... also.. Vampire with guns.
Is that the same one that was circulating the 'creepy/shit pasta' croud on youtube? The one I remember didn't have guns, but it was all kinds of weird and dumb fan-fic.
myimmortal.wikia.com They shoot at each other from time to time. One of the most famous lines is "I jumped sexily in front of da bullet."
Yep - it's pretty fun to read aloud, as is, without correcting anything. One of the best bits is in the very first author's notes, when she thanks her friend for help "wif da speling".
I'm attempting to jump sexily around my office. Not sure if it's working. Maybe if I took my pants off.
It's my home office, haha. No HR in restaurants, thank God... I'm the closest thing we have to one. The sensitivity training thing doesn't fly with the culture, though we do have "rules" about what can or cannot be made fun of. Race and sexual preference are definitely in. So are spouses, parents, and significant others. Kids are out as well as pranks involving money.
Re-train as a Mary-Sue. Then you'll be able to do everything sexily, seductively, suicidally (that's why My Immortal's got a lot of beef from many goths, who think it's portraying them incorrectly), any way you please. And everyone will love you and beat each other up over who gets to sit next to you.
That sounds like what I call "the multiculturalism of the lowest common denominator." It's practiced in the military as well, but the best mass-market example I can think of is the film The Thirteenth Warrior.
In mine, some companies are much more corporate than others (which frankly is often dependent on their past history of being sued), so you have to know the culture. Whether or not HR exists is inconsistent as well. But hey, in your home office? Knock yourself out. LOL ETA Of your list, what's considered OK and what isn't OK to make fun of in the culture of my biz if there's no HR (not my personal opinion, this is just what's allowed): Race and sexual preference: nope. Spouses: depends but it's usually avoided due to travel in close quarters because it can spark a physical fight. You can always make fun of your own spouse, but surprisingly it isn't done that often. Significant others: Depends on how significant. The more significant they become, the less making fun is allowed. Parents: Your dad is fair game, your mom, not usually. You can make fun of your own mom, and you can laugh along when someone else does, but you can never instigate or laugh longer than the person laughing at their mom. Kids: kids of other people outside the circle, yes. Pranks involving money: Most of the pranks involve money. ETA: Some of these change around depending on who you're working for or with..which is why all the company culture questions in interviews!
https://www.engadget.com/2018/06/19/gamestop-enters-selloff-talks/?sr_source=Facebook Can’t say I’m surprised — with the rise of online gaming purchases, it was only a matter of time. So long, GameStop. You’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
I'm tired, but can't get back to sleep, and I know I have a long day ahead of me. This should be fun.
That's me too. I woke up in the small hours of the morning. Might get a breakfast Subway to wake me up proper for work.
Instead of sleeping tonight, I’m just going to be a dick and make (ask nicely) my wife drive to California so I can sleep in the car.
What a lovely thing to be greeted with in the morning. The first thing on my newsfeed is that the USA is withdrawing from a UN Human rights council calling it a ''cesspool of political bias". It's kinda funny because that's been my view on the USA and human rights since Sandy Hook. The recent scandal of child immigrants doesn't help. But this sort of bs is one of a laundry list of things that have ruled it out as a candidate for the emergency expat plan I'm crafting for my bf and I. No offence to those who live there, but when you prioritise good healthcare and safety the ranking is pretty bad, even if my bf would earn more money since he works in software. For those who wanna know, it's a lean towards the French side of Canada at the moment.
So America Light? Canada is the mild version of America for the most part. Politics wise I don't know what they really do, but at least they have national healthcare like you do across the drink.
I get it. I fucking hate America (USA), and especially it's government/police state. I admit that I love someone who comes from there, but that's not something we can do anything about. I'd better not start ranting about it, so I'll just leave it there.
