Yep. River Liffey runs through Dublin. I live about 2 1/2 hours away from there.

    It's in The City.

Which is a strange part of London, all bustling business people during the week, and deserted on a Saturday. But where everybody lived for example during the...Roman era through to the early 2oc, the walled city. Very evocative, good for ghosts and remnants. Fantastic history.

Specifically - the pub's in The Barbican, a 1960s development, the only housing in The City - really. It's very special, she's very lucky.

Well, I wouldn't cycle to Dublin. Probably I'd get a plane from Robin Hood airport and be there for lunch-time. I'd pre-plan, of course - a taxi/and alarm call.

But, I'm not coming. I'm flying to Bordeaux. Sleeping on the beach, and a job in a bar. The mafia face within the year, obv..

It would take me about 2 1/2 hours on the bus for me to get to Dublin. That is bizarre to think that in the time it takes for me to drive across the country I live in, you could've flown over in the same space of time! o_O

Sunday...it will take me 2 and half hours to cycle to Whitby for work. No buses on a Sunday morning :/

    ...

Should buy a car - but my wife says cars are old shit/old hat. So, she's right really...cars are boring and nowhere to park around here b/c it's so rustic twee/18c cobbles.

Who the hell knew orcas like Guinness? And my God how many gallons of it must it take to satisfy a whale's thirst???:D

ETA: The pub owner could make out quite well, though...

[Calls out to @Homer Potvin ] "Hey, Homes! When you own your own place, make sure you stock plenty extra Guinness! You've got a thirsty customer!"

ETA: Better phone ahead and let them know you're coming in, @Link the Writer ... ;)

I'm rooting for Mexico in the World Cup. They're paying for the wall, so it seems only fair.

Should I be worried that more often than not when I load up the forum each day, my number of ‘Alerts’ is 13?

It’s beginning to freak me out.

I have had my alerts be up to 20-22 in the morning.
So I am going to say no. :)

    Yeah, but 20 / 22 aren’t considered unlucky numbers.

No, I have had it happen many times. I used to get surprised at 15-16, but I like having stuff
to see whats all going on. :p

Your Americanism is tripping you up again! You don't need to put 'all' in this sentence. But I have concluded it is probably a regional thing. It does bug me regardless though. :p

The other day I spent a good five minutes trying to remember the Norwegian word for "vowel", but at least I got there on my own.

Then, a couple of days later, I couldn't for the life of me figure out what "janitor" is. In the end I had to look it up. You can probably guess how stupid I felt at forgetting such a basic thing.

I can't decide if this is funny or frightening.

Just look how nicely the border around the forum list tracks the corner of my browser's popup menu. LOOK AT IT.

I’m worried about @Lea`Brooks . I’m not sure how she’s doing, but I haven’t seen her around here much anymore. I hope she’s ok. :(

She's having a baby with that lizard from Starbucks. If you remember he saved her from that shared room with her husband's boyfriend.
