Getting down to writing on days I have to work, while a perfectly fine day off was squandered. Though I did do some research for naming purposes.
Eighteen years into the twenty-first century, and we're actually celebrating Saudi women gaining the right to drive.
yep that is what I call the hype of mentality, there is no happy medium it is either one continent extremely open/tolerant/advanced call it what you may and another extremely close minded.
oops I saw what I did there....but on the other hand ...it did say ''but shouldn't'' a play on words I guess
Another eighteen years and NOBODY will drive. We'll be shooting 'drivers.' Imagine our fortunes, our prisons are bursting, our highways lined with uber-vehicles/then strapped into a drone and smashed into a mountainside. Heh heh, bad luck.
The alert system on the forum. Thankfully we can unwatch threads we've posted in, but it can get pretty hectic when gone for a day or two, only to find twenty or thirty "alerts" about things I honestly don't care about (Or lost interest in). No offense to anyone on here, but yeah, those alerts tend to annoy me a bit. They probably shouldn't, but it taps on the annoyance button.
I think you only do get one alert per thread, don't you? Unless someone quotes you - I think you get alerted each time for that.
You get an alert nearly every time someone posts in a thread you're watching. Though if you happen to be 'inactive' for a while it will skip to the most recent poster on a given thread to alert you.
This worked like a charm. Actually, better than a charm as those don't work at all. Thanks Poemnerdy!
Fully understood, I also began to Unwatch threads as they come... It like "Nope, no longer interested". Aside from my own, I have only a few core threads I watch, and a few progress journals. Even if I dont post, i'm still watching.
I hate it when a thread that had gone dormant and I didn't even realize I was watching anymore suddenly blows up. Not calling out anything or anyone specifically or recently, but somebody necroposts and BOOM, suddenly I'm getting five alerts in eight minutes over a topic that drifted off to sleep two years ago.
I kind of like it when that happens - it's like a trip down memory lane, seeing all the different people who used to post, and the different personas they had back then...
