    New here

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by anotherghost, Jul 22, 2018.

Whats up folks, ill save you the drawn out back-story. Just wondering how I obtain the privileges to post in the poetry section? I'm looking for a community of creatives to identify with & this place seems pretty active.

    Thanks!

"Wait two weeks and make 20 posts before doing anything in the workshops."
Weird format but I'm still with you, to clarify I guess anyone interested in poetry must suspend their interest in sharing in favor of other facets of writing selected seemingly at random? That comes off as an unnecessary limitation on the creative output of your new members, but perhaps its there to limit spam I guess?

Well, there’s no rule that you can’t spend time in the poetry sub-forum and critique the work of others. It is definitely to limit spam, and to keep the collective critique machine alive. In the literary world, two weeks is nothing. There’s a lot of waiting in this business, unfortunately.

    Hello and welcome!

The rules are to avoid people joining up just to get feedback on their writing and then leaving, without contributing to the community. You can still comment in the workshop and give your own feedback to other's work though. Getting critique is a favour after all and you are expected to return it. You can also post in the Creative Writing section if you have questions regarding your writing.
The two weeks aren't much, use the time to learn your way around and get to know the people. Have fun. :)
