After years of writing only short horror stories, I think I've finally come up with an idea for a horror novel. I'm very excited to get started, as I know that novels tend to sell a lot better than short story anthologies, and I've actually always preferred writing novels so I can flesh things out more. I am known as a flowery writer for a reason!
My financial aid came through and I don't have to worry about paying for my cancer treatment out of pocket! I'm SO RELIEVED. I still have to pay some here and there for some tests and stuff that weren't covered by this, but it's no longer in "Well, I'll die of natural causes before I can ever pay THAT back" territory. This is such a load off my mind.
My bf's birthday presents have arrived! Now for the hard part, they're stand alone extensions of a board game we've been playing, and I know he wanted one of them because he showed me the price was an all time low on Amazon. I'm tempted to bring that one to his workplace later, and give him the other one on the day (Thursday), so hesh got an option at the games night. Any opinions?
Will you be playing any games nights before his birthday this Thursday? I would base my answer on that. If you won't, save both for his birthday, if you are, an early present as a surprise/more options is an awesome idea.
Went to the hospital with Hubby today to have some x-rays done. It's the busiest and biggest hospital in the country, so I was prepared to wait forever but he got in 10 min early. I was in shock. Throughout the summer I'd struggled with public healthcare (I'd had wrong tests taken that could've in the worst case led to huge, life-altering consequences), and I've also gotten way too familiar with this particular hospital, though usually during nighttime when the cops and junkies face it off in the corridors and old people are forgotten in their beds with piss-soaked bedsheets, so this sudden positive experience left me reeling. Also, they were selling incredible donuts in the café. Count your blessings, I guess.
Diving My wife is driving. We have twenty-five minutes before we reach our destination. I'm thinking about the short I’m writing. Adam is thirteen years old. He is by the lake with his best friend. They are there to swim. Adam dives from seven feet into the water. As his hands crush the water he is thinking about the girl he is in love with. He is now completely below the surface. What does he think? It has to be calm, sweet, solitary, soft, peacefull, saturated, loving. I can't do this. My English is not rich enough. It'll have to do with: "Adam dived into the water and thought about Angelica." I am used to this. You work around it and it gets as good as it gets. But as I am not on my notepad, I have forgotten. I’m not writing this in English. In Swedish I should be able to do it much better. Now, I just have to do it!.
A video about underage Finnish boy giving a little drive to his mother as a mothers day present. Boy was about 15 years. You can get a driving license at a age of eighteen in Finland. This video makes me happy - again and again.
It took me a couple of hours and a lot of patience, but I am off to a good start with my fondant shapes. I've made the onigiri from Sushi Go Party and some blood tokens from the Bloodborne card game (though thatst just red discs so that's not exactly an achievement). Going to fetch done more fondant colours and some shortening for the caramel buttercream.
But Kalle got a special permit to try getting driving license at the age of 17. His driving test. 2-3 years later....
Well, well, turns out I now have two WIPs being worked on. LOL. my current, Kristol of Ancea... and an older one, Shattered Terra, which needs a lot of work to bring it up to speed.... should be fun. The book was finished but having a second person, beta, go over it helps a lot. Thanks Some Guy.
1. I finally found a book that's enjoyable to read. Yay! 2. I get to see "Meg" on Friday and I'm way excited even if it deviates from the books.
I took a ride on those swings I mentioned in another thread I can't remember. Goddamn swings will bring out the inner kid like nothing else. Least, for me they do. Need to try them drunk now.
I’ve known one of my betas for two or three years now, and we just voice chatted in person. Feels really weird! You guys are actually people (with voices and everything).
I met my husband online, along with several online-turned-IRL friends. So I guess I'm an old hat at this.
