How to Torture My Characters

    What you may learn from writing about any bad thing is that (1) it happens and (2) it's bad.

    If you only write about the happy happy things, then writing has no relevance to the real world. If writing refuses to ever acknowledge that bad things exist or could possibly exist...then, well, why not just eat cookies and take a nap rather than bothering to write? You'll have pretty much the same impact on the world.

    Well it is easier to write than to watch.
    I have seen some pretty crazy stuff that
    people have allowed to be done to them.
    Needles under the nails is easier to read,
    than it is watch someone go through it.
