    Hi everyone,

So I'm new here. Found this forum yesterday after Googling creative writing forums. I've decided to register because I find I miss having "colleagues" that are writing, like I had back in 2008 when I studied creative writing at University, and with whom I exchanged critiques for short stories.

I'm a young writer in my early 30s. I haven't published anything except a short story in French in a LGBTQIA+ collective last year (or the one before). I started countless novels, never finished one (yet), still have 2 blogs on which I semi-regularly publish poetry (most of the times) and short stories (sometimes) in both English and French. I have tons of poems, haikus and short stories in English and French.

I'm also a translator from English to French so my language skills are great. Although I am not working in that field anymore for the moment: I'm in school (once more) studying automobile mechanic which is incredibly interesting. I've also studied creative writing (as stated earlier), languages, litterature and communication.

Other than that, I love science fiction, dystopian futures, Margaret Atwood, fiction, video games, music, poetry (writing it rather than reading it), Sylvia Plath, Chuck Palahniuk, Bukowski, etc. I'm queer, feminist and proud! :)

I think that's sufficient for now.

    Have a great day/evening,

    - hW

Welcome from a fellow Canadian! I spent four great years in Montreal when I was in university (long, long ago) and some time in BC, but mostly I'm on Ontario girl.

I hope you find a good community here.

Thank you! :) I'm glad you enjoyed Montréal, I've lived there from 2012 to 2016, then I moved on the South Shore with my wife and our dog, hehe. That's funny, because our next step is to move to BC. Maybe you could tell me about it some other time.

I only went to Ontario once, but I also quite like it there too. Although winters are no better there so meh.

I hope that too, thank you!

    Hello to you all,

Thank you for the nice welcome. :)
I just realized I forgot to include cyberpunk in my list of favorite genres!

I also prefer science fiction that is not just about tech but rather, a good 'noir' story with a futuristic background (kind of like Blade Runner/Does androids dreams of electric sheep, minus the shady, rapy scenes between Deckard and Rachael and the whitewashing). That is the kind of novel I want to write.

    Cheers!

It sounds great!! Sign me in ;) Even it wasn't a Fan Fiction (I can't find anything about BR FanFic, will I have to write it myself??) I'd live to read something like that.

ETA: I've just cathed a glimpse at your blog (good to know I haven't forgotten my French), it looks interesting. :agreed:

Hehe, thank you! Hope you enjoyed my blog and glad you are practicing your French, hehe.

You're creating much anticipation for my novel which is faaaar from being done. But I am working on it. It's a slow process because I am a ÜBER pantser. :D
