Really? When it comes to genitals I'm usually there physically, but my mind and my emotions are miles away.

 

disasterspark, you said your story is set "far into the future", so my initial question concerns the technology in that far future. Is it more advanced than our current level? That could go either way.

Is mankind scattered about the galaxy, on planets with differing gravities and other environmental differences?

If this is a sci-fi scenario, there could be a lot of reasons why a 6' women would be normal and not unexpected. However, as someone else pointed out, with future tech, you have all sorts of issues getting away with, like CCTV everywhere, and automatic feature recognition, even for mundane things like advertising. Remember Bladerunner had that back in the 80's. Re-examine your technological aspects of how this fugitive would get away with it. On the plus side, you could utilize nanotech to affect appearance changes.

I did go look up the reference to the guy who escaped a Mexican jail while crossdressed, and looked up pics of him as well. Personally, I don't buy it. Those guards there would have to be not very observant or bought off, and my bet is on the latter. In addition to the points made by other posters about hand size, voice, walking, there are other points to "passing" that still have not been mentioned. Speech patterns are different between men and women. By the time a GG gets to womanhood, she has had thousands of hours of cultural acclimation and make up practice. A man is simply not going to do this with a couple of hours of practice. There are a lot of crossdressing forums out there, so take a look. You will find this is an ongoing discussion on them.

If it's a future setting, he may want to either be a hacker or learn hacking so he could trick the systems of identofication the prison uses. Regarding the clothing, it's plausible that he could order fabrics under the guise of making art-projects, and then divide the fabric-pieces between the art-projects and sewing a dress, or whatever it is that women wear at that time; this way he could avoid suspicion.

 

Unless the act of crossdressing is essential to the development of the character, it seems like if this is a technologically developed future, other solutions to obscuring his identity would be more plausible.

That being said... is he trying to blend in with other women, or just appear female to men?

 

To tell you the truth I cut this out a long time ago. But I just wanted to include crossdressing to throw people off.

If he shaves (legs, face, armpits, maybe arms too) and looks effeminate by default, then there's not much he needs to pull this off. There are tall women. If he really looks like one I don't see a problem. Let's say his face is very effeminate. Make up would be pretty much easy. Some mascara and eyeliner (or pencil) and some lipstick and he would be hot. Don't forget to pluck out the eyebrows! Very basic. Men do tend to have more bushy eyebrows than women. It makes a difference. As far as body goes. Well if he is very tall maybe, he would be somewhat more noticed. Except if he has scandinavian characteristics. I've seen many blonde, scandinavian women that are taller than their men or about the same height. They don't ring a bell. But if they were situated somewhere in the mediterranean, even the women would be noticed, so I guess that this depends on the setting and the hero's/antihero's ancestry. He needs to be somewhat skinny though, and not so buff. Women usually grow asses and breasts, while men grow bellies although they might lack ass. I hope this helps.
