Not bad. Our electric and gas bills go up and down in a harmonic resonance with each other over the seasons. Long hot showers and cooking lots in the winter bring up the gas, aircon in the summer brings up the electric. Total utilities are pretty constant year-round though.
You read about in the newspaper, but thats not you. But it actually happens. This day forty years ago we got married. Lobster and champagne, now as then.
I sent an email to someone I don't know and who doesn't know me (as far as I know). High-profile trainer. Asking if he'd train me when I get back from Antarctica, during my two-week layover in South Africa. He said Yes . I can't stop smiling . Something to look forward to.
Didn't believe I'd state my true 'Location'? when they've died a natural death i.e. fallen into ice crevasses Sorry, no bow and tie, but Tempex and face mask are mandatory. Seriously: If you want to apply, every overwintering team needs a cook...
I feel quite safe here. We've stockpiled about a year of supplies still—including champagne and prawns; and somehow, I don't think you can arrange diarrhea and/or salmonella infection. But... is the reverse true as well?
Might have something to do with only reaching us through parachutes and icebreakers during the Antarctic winter... We actually have the opposite problem: Here are no germs and bacteria that could challenge our immune system. Which means when the first summer guests come/we get back to the mainland, that we'll almost certainly get sick. No extensive shopping for fruits for us (which we do without through the winter). I don't fancy the runs, immediately after being let loose again on the rest of humanity. Back to the 'Happiness Thread'! No hijhacking
I got in to work this morning and found a nice little birthday present; they bought every book on my Amazon list for classes. Where they had to they got the print book, where they could they got me the kindle, but that's a good $400 worth of books.
Only four days until my two co-workers vacation (Just hope I won't have to work with the actually insane guy while they're gone, though) Also trying to think of this weekend - looking after my parents cat - as a mini-vacation for me and Balt. I'll be in my own cabin by the sea, should be perfect for writing/drawing - right? My parents are going to one of Sweden's biggest arts and craft market with my aunt and if I'm lucky they might sell off some of my jewelry I used to make back in the days. Since I'm already trying to sell off all my belongings and save the money I might be lucky.
I need that body - and brain - more than medical science does... and I'm not that desperate for money yet!
Yes, the brownies I mentioned earlier. I finally convinced myself to just make them. Didn't take more than 5 minutes. Water, oil, 1 whisked egg into the packet mix, mix it up, into a tray. 25 mins in the oven.
I am unbelievably freaking happy because From Russia With Love* arrived today!!! It's been two weeks, and I've been anxiously awaiting its arrival. I came home to a card saying there was a registered item to collect from the post office. Opened it before I even got home, and I'm ecstatic because it is absolutely awesome!!! *A gift that I ordered for CT which has nothing to do with James Bond.
It was my town's Jubilee today, which is celebrated by a fair in the park. It's cheap and nasty, but it's fun, and I personally consider it the highlight of the year. After that, I went to pick up this beauty. She is so, so gorgeous. Spoiler: For size.
