We have - finally - arrived. The drive was - no wait, I guess this would have to be put in the first world whining thread . Lets just say it was a very, very long drive (though we didn‘t depart at 5 a.m. but rather at 7 a.m.). Anyway, now everything is fine and Henry and I are looking forward to a good night‘s rest .
OT: Tired, again! This heat is a real killer. Spent just a few hours hanging with the dudes, now I'm tired, bah. Summer summer go away. Summer summer, shit it's here to stay....
Before ride, edited another chapter of me book. Added another life story in the Appendix to suit. -0.4 degree when I rode off into the sunrise, but didn't feel cold at all. Clear sky apart from some wispy white clouds in the distance, but very cold once I hit the village. Clouds mildly obscuring warm sun spots upon the benches. Ride home hands were frozen all the way, had trouble changing gears, and forget about changing tracks on my Cowon, though bod and legs were warm. 4 degrees in the bike shed at 9:30. 2 degrees cooler than friday. Currently thawing out with some delish warm stew. Noticing I've gone up a level in stamina since I put on the new crankset. Considering there's a psychological...whoa...just had the tiniest micro power blackout, about 1\2 a second... haven't had them for a couple of years now. The Aliens had to reset something. Considering there might be a psychological component to the improved stamina. Sitting on the bed having me breakie, doesn't even feel like I just did a difficult but enjoyable 2hr ride. Gonna thaw out and hit the book soon, maybe hit the injectors around noon if the bod is up to it.
Q: Look under me av. Agreed, compared to other countries winters here are mild, though 0 degrees is still cold, let alone for riding in.
Admire your determination. I’d still be in bed, buried under thick covers until it’s warm enough to get out. Or if it’s a weekday, I’d dash to the heater, crank it up then dive back under the covers and wait till it’s toasty before climbing out of bed again.
I don`t even know at this point. Longish day at work today, getting all the rooms ready for the baseball players coming in and cleaning the people still in for the music festival. I almost forgot about the dam festival. Why do they do that on the same weekend? It`s legit right next to the stadium too. Came home and......laid down....nothing else much. Just got up recently, eating junk, having acid reflux probably because of the later, and probably going to bed for tomorrow soon. This dam weekend is just draining me, this dam job drains. Hopefully, get back on track after this weekend. Gonna be glad when it`s over tomorrow. I mean for now, gonna be here all month but we`re only getting two teams so here`s hoping. It`s kinda all-consuming atm, this job always is though. Did come up with a podcast idea, though because I needed another idea. Do we really have no eye roll emjoi? I should try and get my real id stuff around so something got done today.
I was pondering why I have such difficulty with male characters, but now I'm wondering why the ancient Greeks were so obsessed with giving everything a woman's torso. Lamia, snake with boobs. Arachne, spider with boobs. Sirens, fish with a woman's upper body. Harpy, ugly ass woman with wings. The list goes on. Greeks were into some weird stuff.
More hybrids in general wee a very common theme. Not that the myths did to many favors for women. (Medusa for one) The minotaur, centaurs, satires, and etc were all mainly depicted as men.
Just looked at this and realized they ain't a swimin' - there's a body under 'im an' the left leg ain't his!
Finished a late breakfast. French toast with bacon, since bacon makes the world go round, woo-woo. Gotta spend today with a lovely lady and get ready for a camping trip we're taking. Should be fun, but I think a few thunderstorms are on the way.....so I may have to push the trip to the week after this one. Eh.
Considering whether I should see a three-hour movie and loose the rest of the day in it, or not see it and do useful things with the still 'usable' afternoon... (The dilemma!)
No, it is a minivan though. It has automatically opening doors. Wait that was not right. It has doors that automatically open only when one presses a button at driver’s seat. Maybe that is why I sit in the way back even though I rather sit in the middle.
Trying to analyse the whole process of classical music, from composition to performance. Does anyone here fully understand the process? It's the sheer complexity that gets me, and how the composer can sit there with only a piano at his disposal and 'hear' what the finished piece should sound like when performed by a full orchestra. In fact I don't even know if that's how it works. Does the composer just write a one-track melody and leave interpretation up to those who wish to perform it, or is each and every instrument - and when that instrument should 'come in' so to speak - dictated by them also?
