    Hello World !

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Bssam, Sep 18, 2019.

    Hi

My name is Bssam, I am originally from Sudan but I lived most of my life in Saudi Arabia and currently I am studying in Milan, Italy. Recently, I have been an active learner of the English language, especially English academic writing.

My native language is Arabic, and unfortunately I can't speak Italian.

It is nice to be here, hope I can be an integral part of this community by giving back to it.

    All the best!

You have good language skills, I'm impressed. I tried learning Arabic in school and I thought it was going to give me an aneurysm.

Thank you man. Actually, learning other language is a key to learn about their cultures and history. Also, Arabic is among the most widespread languages in the world and I guess about 22 countries have the Arabic language as the official language.

The secret in learning any language is to make so many mistakes, that is how I am learning English! I just make thousands of mistakes everyday, and try to improve my communication skills.

May I ask, where are you from?
It is interesting to see others learning my native language : )

I'm from Canada. When I was going for my history degree I found a lot of medieval sources were in Arabic and didn't realize how different a language it is compared to any of the others I'd studied.
