Roasted beef cubes, sauteed asparagus and potatoes with bread.

    Should come out....decent.

Leftover pizza. Coffee. Water for the rest of the day because I'm in one of those moods where I hate the idea of eating.

Can you package that mood up and sell it?

Well, for one, I figured out a long time ago that, under the right circumstances, coffee can be a good appetite suppressor, which means that it doesn't always work when I want it to.
It did just right in that circumstance, which was good, because I didn't want to take a break from writing to cook something.

I have no idea...but that poached salmon with mustard sauce from a couple of weeks ago was fantastic, so I might order that again.

Or a burger. Well, at least I've narrowed it down to protein...The carbs from last night's pizza must be catching up to me.

If the best roasting you're going to get is a vegetable, I can wholly recommend a cauliflower. Recently introduced to this dish. I never knew that you could roast 'em, but now I do. And I will.

(other vegetables are available. and delicious)

After inspecting the fridge multiple times, I decided at around 3:40am to make linguini with garlic and basil. Tastes good although I would have added some more basil if I could.

Swiss chards. Homegrown from Dad's garden. There was such an excess amount of them that they didn't fit in the fridge.
So I fried a number of them in the skillet, with butter and garlic.

I think that this is the first time I can genuinely say: I don't want to eat my vegetables. Even with salt and lime pepper, I prefer them in soup. Fish soup.

Miso marinated salmon cooked in a skillet.

It took only a couple minutes and was delicious and I am clearly the greatest chef ever.

. . . I may also just be really hungry from not eating since 9:45AM but who knows?

Chicken Verde Enchiladas. It was finally cool enough in the kitchen to cook something! I can smell them as I write this, and they're almost done.

The eight chicken thighs appeared very 'high' on the first impression, but when I threw the packaging outside they didn't smell too bad and coated in breadcrumbs they looked great, and my wife never noticed the green skin undersides, and nobody would eat any of it when I wouldn't eat my one piece of chicken. We just ate rice.

Absinthe Martinis: 2 oz gin, 1 oz lemon juice, splash absinthe, shaken with ice, and garnished with a maraschino cherry. Only I don't have any maraschino cherries.

Sounds good, I've got all of those things, including the lack of maraschino cherries :(

Not usually what my mind goes to when I think of raw doggin' it, but this is somehow more wholesome.

Ravioli with a ricotta-spinach filling and tomato sauce. Both not homemade (shame on me ;)) but nevertheless tasty :cheerleader:.

I make homemade pasta on occasion and it's not at all quick. No shame in taking a short cut.

Didn't cook it, but it's cold enough tonight for my favorite cold-weather meal from El Coyote: a green corn tamale smothered in chile con carne.

Yes, it's heavy as hell. An order of that is food for days.

Macabre trivia: El Coyote is where Sharon Tate and friends had their last meal, which is always...creepy to think about... when I dine in.

"Days" Those are rookie numbers. More like one of those is food for a meal.

You forget, I'm dealing with American portion sizes here! o_O An order is two large tamales, the chile con carne, plus rice, beans, tortillas, a huge bag of chips and two half pints of salsa. Oof!
