I shall be having home made sweet & sour chicken with egg fried rice. I say home made... I have a bag of ‘throw in the oven’ crispy chicken bites, a pouch of ready made sweet & sour sauce, and a bag of microwaveable egg fried rice.
Mmmmmmmm, roast lamb. I taught myself to make roasted leg of lamb years ago. The first one was so bad not even our dog would eat it. No one mentioned lamb has fell. ...
I made my own version of peanut butter melt the other day, and it wasn’t until then that I understood why some people described food as orgasmic. It was half a jar of PB, some chocolate chips and a couple of crushed up Blue Ribbon bars (wafer covered in chocolate) which I then microwaved for 30 seconds. It was the microwaving that made it so special, as it removed the tackiness from the PB.
Roasted cauliflower is fantastic!!! So much so that I've taken to roasting it before I add it to curry. Tonight's dinner: a turkey burger, fries, and a chocolate shake because I'm starving due to having skipped lunch, and I haven't had ice cream yet this week.
What a great tip - roasted cauliwobble definitely going in my next curry!! My mouth is watering at the very thought. Won't be this week though - I am visiting the ageing and toothless Hammer-Mater so will mainly be preparing flavourless, pre-war slop or soup... today will be baked chicken breast and creamed leek...
It's so good!!! The toasty flavor goes great with the warm spices in curry. Often I'll roast the cauliflower a couple of days before so it's less work when I make the curry.
There's a restaurant in downtown Monterey, Ca. called Rosine's that offers a steak sandwich. It's a New York Strip Steak on a loaf of toasted French bread. I replicated that last night (with whatever the hell cut of steak my local supermarket had). Good stuff, Maynard.
Not really a big steak eater but dam if that doesn`t look delicious. Tonight's meal wasssss.....a frozen family size chicken parm pattie dinner. Because I know how to cook but don`t quite have the energy sometimes ok. Also the brand the market here carries are wonderful. My go to comfort food.
I was thinking of going out for Indian for lunch, but I don’t have much spending money at the moment and have way too many plans this week with others. So I’ve decided I’m heading home to cook the bland breaded chicken patties and smother them in Japanese curry.
Roast lamb is the easiest cook. Mint sauce - duh. Then pork with your crackling errors, and next is chicken - underestimated by the unenlightened, and only once did I raise my voice at the table/counter. [care issue re bread sauce and gravy Lastly the king that is beef with the Yorkshire pudding recipe mystery, disappointment of grey grey meat guarantees big big argument always. Plus all takeaway/all restaurant food is disgusting at present. Maybe distant York bistro? *fish & chips excluded ... Tonight was midweek chilli w gaviscon chaser,
Not sure if that`s a typo or a joke. Today was gonna be a pizza night bought a frozen pizza, some soda, and a pumpkin roll to have a nice night. Plus some IPA`s I brought home form work. Ended up getting two slices from the pizza before my dog (Apollo) stole the whole dam pizza. This is the second time he`s done this, really need to remember not to leave those out. At least he was considerate enough to let us get a few slices out before he swiped. He`s currently pretty much passed out on my bed in a dead sleep with a full tummy. .....it`s kinda adorable...can`t even be mad. The ipa`s were terrible. I don`t like IPA`s in general but the art on these can`s were wonderful and I had high hopes. Spoiler Spoiler Couldn`t even hold it in my mouth. Spat it right out. Mixing it with the soda made it bearable.
Yet another IPA spending more money on can design than flavor. That's why I'm very tentative to try nowadays.
