IIRC, Queen Victoria had fake flowers at her wedding. Started a trend.

Or maybe that was just on her dress/in her hair.

The real stuff is way more than that: $100 - $120 an ounce. We keep that shit locked up.

Awww....here in Scotland that orange bit is known as the coral, and we happily eat it along with the rest of the little guy, minus the shell. It's actually really good. It's tender, while the rest of the scallop can be chewy. They shouldn't be, if they're not overcooked, but sometimes they can be a bit rubbery.

I love scallops, but I am total crap at cooking them. I can't seem to get the 'searing' quite right. I mean, they're always edible ...I'm not THAT bad ...but not quite up to scratch.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. What happened? Was it an expected death after a prolonged illness? Or one of those shock things nobody expects? Either way, it's hard.

I've been feeling pretty... routine for a few months now.

I've achieved a lot and gained a lot of skills over the years. Lots of odd jobs, new talents, and even graduated college. All "dreams" we have all achieved or want to at some point.

However, I never feel fulfilled. I now have a banging job that pays well and I am very happy with my career path. But I'm bored just as I always get bored when I achieve anything.

    I did it. What's next?

I've been trying to decide what my next big thing is going to be and it was either YouTube, the cello, singing lessons, or writing hardcore again (my small accolades have gotten stale)

But I'm worried I'll write my next big thing and either win a contest or get it published somewhere and still feel no satisfaction to the point I stop writing.

That's why I'm not happy lately. I want to do more but I'm afraid I dont actually care.

My "baby" cousin had his send off party today before he goes off to the Navy. Mom sent me this picture and a picture with him and the rest of the family. I wish I was there :( imagejpeg_1.jpg

That's the problem. I've literally done nothing but eat, sleep, surf the web.

    And I'm still exhausted.

A walk. Definitely take yourself for a walk. Sometimes the rhythm of your stride works magic.

A 7.3 quake just registered in the waters between Jamaica and Cuba. This is not terribly close to me or anything, but it took place along the main fault that gives rise to the Puerto Rico Trench directly off the north coast of the PR. Not a good thing.

Are you getting any tsunamis out of all this?

Nothing so far. That quake just happened. But the concern for tsunami is greatly enhanced by where this quake too place. The fault system along the north of the Caribbean plate is very complicated. Some transverse, some subduction, some combo. The ones happening off the south coast of Puerto Rico are in a kind of fault zone not usually associated with tsunamis. The one that just took place between Jamaica and Cuba is the kind of fault zone that can move the entire ocean, from sea-floor to surface. That causes tsunamis.
