American TV love movies with titles like Love At First Dance and Autumn Stables, shot in digital soft focus with impossibly good-looking actors and never made before 2019.
When you see someone drop a piece of linen out of the washer and don't shake it before placing it in the dryer. It's damp! It probably picked up a bunch of lint, you monster!!
Related: When someone hangs a wet, but still unwashed towel on the drying line*, then adds the clean, freshly washed laundry to dry, forgets that the first towel is unwashed, and folds everything, including the unwashed towel, and puts it in the rack. I try to teach a strict separation of washed/unwashed laundry, but said someone never learns! *What's a dryer? (I believe we had one once upon a time. Nowadays, we have the time and space to let it dry naturally.)
Sounds like a nicer version of Gordon Ramsay's rant on not keeping cooked meat near raw meat in the walk in.
I hate when the barista wipes the steam nozzle with the same rag he used to wipe the counter. When he dunks the nozzle in my latte, I’m hoping it’s hot enough to kill germs.
Those poor. poor germs. I mean honestly, they were minding their own business and then they get steamed to a crisp at around 200 degrees. #GermLivesMatter.
Aargh, yes! I hate it when the wet rag used for dishwashing is used to wipe stains (from dropped food) at the table – when there's still fresh food about to be consumed already on the table. The stain's from fresh food. It doesn't mind if you wait until after eating to clean it off. Besides, you may make more stains while eating. Just clean all of them after. I hate when someone uses the wet dishwashing rag (aka germ castle), and then continues to go about their business, including eating (!) without washing their hands, or even the smallest hint of cleaning off whatever they may have picked up from that yucky rag.
Standard responses: Engineer: You know that's an arbitrary scale, right? Smart engineer: You want one that goes up to 12?
The driver that was speeding in front of my house today. No, not the speeding – that's so common that I can live with it. She was wearing a surgical mask. In a car. With no one else in the car. Lady, there's no one there that can infect you. No need to wear that mask (it won't protect you from infection anyway. It's designed to work the other way.) And if you're infected and want to protect others, you shouldn't operate a car, much less driving on an inner city road at high speed.
It’s the people with the masks that get me. Those N95 masks won’t protect you from the virus itself. The N95 NIOSH rating means it will block 95% of particles down to 0.3 microns in size, such as dust, pollen, and mold. The charcoal layer is meant to add a protection factor when working around vapors, such as when working with lacquers, varnishes, and oil based coatings in open environs but with limited air circulation. At best, wearing a surgical mask will block the spray of someone sneezing in your face from reaching your mouth and nose. If it gets in your eyes, all bets are off. The masks also won’t do you any good if they aren’t worn correctly. So far, everyone I’ve seen had big gaps at the bridge of the nose, or around the sides, reducing the effectiveness by about 70-80%.
Aaaand... the mask will help you against infection from this, how? OK, it makes it less likely that you touch your mouth after having touched an infectious surface. Eyes? Not so much. Assuming it's her private car, makes more sense to wipe/spray down surfaces. And your hands. The coronavirus, as far as we know so far, can easily be removed with soap/water and alcohol-based disinfectant/wet wipes. Again, the mask (worn inside a car by you lonesome) makes only sense to prevent spreading the virus IF you are infected. At which point you shouldn't be out and about, driving a car. The masks are a sign of paranoia. Most masks don't work, or not the way people think they work. People use them wrong. Or the wrong types of mask. Other tools work better. Meanwhile, professionals who need the masks and know how to use them correctly experience shortages. Annoys me, but shouldn't, because it is quite understandable and previously observed wrong behavior, thus not surprising. But spreading the word helps.
Meanwhile our REACT team who need the ppf3 masks for asbestos clearance for fly tips can't get any because all our usual suppliers are sold out... thats more an annoy me and should
That's why I always wear two; one over my mouth and nose, and one over my eyes. Especially while driving.
