  1. TMW you realize that you've just written about 500 words of instruction to your freshmen on how to write a 150 word paragraph.

    That moment..
You reply to a post before you understand it.

    That moment..
Your friends girlfriend gets drunk and smiles and giggles at you.

    That moment..
You tell your boss that the task he tried to assign to you is above your pay grade.

TMW you take a break from your fantasy to work on your Western, and feel your creativity stirring again.

Also, TMW you wake up and for half a moment think you’re John Adams.

TMW when you return to work from a few days annual leave (self-made long weekend) and you can't remember your log-in computer password

PS; This happened to me this morning.

That moment when amazon emails you to say your slippers have been dispatched and all you can think of is "ok but where's my beanbag chair???"

The fact that I technically need the slippers more is irrelevant.

TMW you realize you ought to ask questions and say things aloud rather than simply keep them in your head...

I had to actually google "macrame" to see what it was . . . :supercool:
doing manual things helps me to empty my mind and think with my hands. Eventually, it also springs up great writing ideas.

TMW your dog is whining and chasing after a rodent on the rafters and you debate whether to not intervene, or help the dog in her hunt.

  18. TMW you're talking to a friend about your health and weight loss plans, but said friend is 20cm (9 inches) taller than you and neither can get their heads around the other's current or healthy weight.

  19. TMW you volunteer to make rice for your Asian-born wife and you just grab the first bag you find in the pantry, only to be informed later that there is more than one kind of rice, depending on the purpose, and you, American-born of European stock, had no idea that it made any difference. Truth be told, I still can't tell, but she knew instantly that I had chosen the "wrong" one. Guess I'll stick to Rice-a-Roni.

It's a criminal offense, one that involves a beating with a spatula and rice spoon thrown usually...

  23. One time I went to the store to buy rice. They had some smaller bags (local grocery store will sell you a 20kilo sack if you want) so I grabbed one of those. I came back home and showed it to her, she asked "Do you want to make mochi for dinner?"

Yup, more than one kind of rice.

Also I saw the florist's had some nice bouquets of flowers at a reasonable price one August and got one for her.

August is o-bon, which is pretty close to the Mexican Day of the Dead.

Yup, I got her grave flowers.

  24. I pay extra for that.

You pay? Sometimes, I buy white rice instead of jasmine rice to let chaos ensue...
