Two rejections for the same story on the same day! A 57-day form rejection from The Chorochronos Archives and a 115-day personal rejection from The Society of Misfit Stories.
I really have no idea without going back and looking at all my submissions, maybe I will do that at the weekend if I remember!
This seems like it belongs on That Moment When thread—TMW you get rejected by the Society of Misfit Stories...
There is no rush in publishing. That's for sure. I've got a submission that's been "in-progress" since January 2019.
Got a personalised rejection from Hayden's ferry review: 'We will not be publishing this piece, but we were very impressed with your writing. We hope that you will feel encouraged by this short note and send us something else.' This is my second personalised rejection for the same story... Well if you liked the writing why won't you publish the damn thing?
Did anyone else buy the pushcart prize collection? Maybe we could start a new thread to discuss the stories.
Please do. We could use a little more discussion on successfully published works and what makes them so. Book discussion would be the appropriate forum: https://www.writingforums.org/book-discussion/
Wow. They stopped giving feedback? That must be within the last year. Too bad! I never understood how they were able to turn things around so quickly AND give feedback.
Declined by Colorado Review and Sun magazine. I am giving up hope on conventional publication anyway. Might start just putting my stuff online.
