ah yes, the vocab word my brother always used to use on me when I'd get upset over his bullying:
"Stop having a conniption" and "Your conniptions are getting old"
    :nosleep:

You must be younger. In my youth it was fairly common in popular media, especially comedies.

I was just thinking that I used to hear the word conniption all the time back in the day. Now not so much. It's probably considered insensitive now.

Granted, I only just learned it, but that seems an odd word choice for the context. Too... Whimsical, perhaps? I'm sorry, and I hope the bullying wasn't too egregious.

Well, it's one of those words that you hear every so often, but you don't really pick up on it. This time I decided to check it out, though, because I loved the guy's delivery and the context. And yeah, I guess statistically I'm younger than most.

I'm familiar with it in the context of throwing a conniption fit. More rarely heard the word used by itself.

Confession. Not new to me. I knew the word even before reading Dune many years ago in my early twenties. I saw plans for one in a model airplane magazine. You can find examples on Youtube. Seeing one there recently made me think of it.

I worry about my mind at times. Doing the crossword puzzle today, I immediately came up with "fancy word for kiss" (osculate) without any letter clues, but blanked out on "falsely present as genuine" (fob off) with two letter clues. I had no idea I knew the word osculate.

i recently found the word basorexia, it means the sudden urge to kiss someone, i think this is really sweet i've always struggled with describing this urge and i found a perfect fit. I'm unsure whether this is an official word but nevertheless i love it

Yeah, that has a nice ring to it, and it makes some sense etymologically. The Italian word for kiss is "bacio", so I imagine the "bas" portion has the same Latin roots. I didn't quite know what -orexia means, so I looked it up. Apparently it means "appetite" or "desire", which is fairly obvious in retrospect. "An appetite for kisses". Yeah, good word.

    Venus Pudica
Western Art history term for the classical female nude that is either standing or reclining with her hands modestly (or shamefully) covering her breasts and vulva.

In my art history class, we only ever talked about "contrapposto" poses.
So this one was pretty enlightening

There’s apparently no noun form of diametrical, so I made one: diametry.

    Go in peace my children.
