Rage are not Nu-Metal. You could put em in loads of genres like funk metal but don't think they're nu-metal. Then again, loads of people have different opinions on genre classification so I guess anyone can think what they want.
John Darnielle is awesome. I need to buy some new music. I've just been playing old Replacements albums for the past four months.
Top 10 Favorite Songs (at least right now) Thomas Falke "Revolution On The Dance Floor" Groove Cutter "My Shooter" Control One "Just A Little Bit" Ian Carey "Redlight" Kevin Weg "Dead Radio" CIRC "Destroy She Said" CIRC "Revolution Song" Tristan Garner "Give Love" Icebreaker International "Port of Rotterdam" Enya "Orinoco Flow" I tend to find pretty obscure stuff this way.: I search around on iTunes for compliation series that I feel have good selections, and then just buy whole compilations... recently I've been spending way too much money on this series -- http://electricnation2010.com/tracks:cool:
I recently discovered Eric Hutchinson via YouTube, and promptly went out to buy his album Sounds Like This. I was not disappointed. My favorite track is Rock & Roll. The video isn't great, but the song is.
I am diggin' this new Jack Johnson ~ Sleep Through The Static I also, very muched enjoyed Bruces New One! Girls In Their Summer Clothes...my favorite!
Oh yeah, Magic was a great album. And personally, for Jack Johnson, I prefer In Between Dreams. Sleep Through the Static was...mild.
Joshua Radin Joshua Radin, discovered this guy through Scrubs in the scene of Bens funeral... his voice kills me in every song, it is so beautiful. http://youtube.com/watch?v=cHlf08yTPiU&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=aXu3WafBt6I&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=vjd6yIn2zmk&feature=related ^ I am sure that alot of you will love him, this is not usually my thing but his voice kills.
Listening to him now...Lovin' it!!! Glad I took the chance and listened...he's kinda artsy...in my opinion..
Scrubs alerted me to one of my new favorite songs, too- Catch My Disease by Ben Lee. Apparently it got a bit of airplay in Australia, but I never heard it till it was on Scrubs.
If you like Joshua Radin, make sure you check out Elliott Smith (easily one of the best artists of our time). Also, In a Cave by Elf Power and Fireproof by Dawn Landes are pretty great.
This is an old thred oh well. I just really got into a whole bunch of local bands. www.myspace.com/callahanlovesyou www.myspace.com/missmayi ah, they are amazing
