Aw, a tortie. What a pretty girl. I've had two tortie/whites and a gray tortie tabby. Tortie#1 used to sleep under the woodstove.

Frames for two photographs that are going to be hung in an art show next week. Not happy with them- they ended up cutting off more around the edges of the photos than I expected, disturbing the balance of the composition. Probably no one will notice but me, still... It was a last minute entry and I didn't have time to have them framed properly, but even so, I wish I'd thought this one through a little further.

I have recently bought a couple of books that I have been thinking of getting for some time, as well as a deck of Druid spell cards for Dungeons and Dragons and a weird floppy-eared Winter hat for work that, it turns out, makes me look like Marge from Fargo. Rather an apt comparison, actually, given my line of work and its rural setting. We haven't had any actual violence lately, though, thankfully, let alone anyone getting stuffed into wood-chippers or such. I have a feeling that might change shortly, though not the wood-chipper part.

Having my Dorthea Lange prints professionally framed. A former student of mine had these prints done for me. How a crappy old house could have such nice photos!

I love Marge. My job now is strangely close to a weird urge I've had since I grew up watching Murder, She Wrote and Twin Peaks to be the sheriff of a tiny little town where nothing ever happens. Our legal system and policing doesn't work that way, but where I've landed up is probably as close as we get, though it leans more toward being Chief Brodie from Jaws if that shark business was all he ever did.

Odd since the conversation otherwhere is devoted to how annoying people "sharing" their music is, but I got a very small (and pretty loud) bluetooth speaker. Going to install it in one of my RC cars so that it has a music system, but I tested it by recording a soothing (CREEPY!!!!!!!) monologue on my phone and hiding the speaker under Mrs. A's pillow. I let her go to bed first, pressed play, and waited for the screaming.

    I'm such a good husband :)

Were I to describe here the death that I deserve I'd be banned before the page even finished loading. A just God would send me to the lowest circle of Hell for eternity and a merciful God never would have created me. Spooking Mrs. A is really low on my list of sins.

Goodness! (Which obviously had nothing to do with it.) Are you a traitor, murderer, or have you betrayed a guest or your lord and master? Inquiring minds want to know.

My wife was given an older second monitor to use with her University-issued laptop when she works from home, but she doesn't bother with it, and said I could use it. So I bought an adapter to connect it to my own laptop, and have been gradually figuring out how to use it, and wondering how much use I will really make of it. But it looks cool and I'm sure there will be opportunities.

    This is a two-for-one…
I just had my first substantial dry air nose bleed of the season, which means after I clean myself up a bit I’m going out to buy a new pillow. I know I could just change the pillow case, but there’s enough blood on this thing to set off a dozen red flags for any CSI tech.

It’s official. The Mrs. finalized the adoption today. Diesel is a roiling pain in the ass, but he’s now our roiling pain in the ass.

It's a Conklin with the crescent filler, so very close to a lever filler style.
