I occasionally revisit some of the forums I enjoyed throughout the years which makes me happy most of the time, but also a bit sad to read some of the discussions I had with folks who no longer post there.
Spent three hours talking to one of my high school best friends last night before bed. It's been a long time since we talked so much, so it was good to catch up with him.
Found the general statutes website for my state yesterday and even though it’s a bit of a strange thing to be excited about I’m sure I’ll spend many hours reading pdfs this summer
Today I visited one of my favourite childhood haunts with some new friends and had a very nice day. I discovered that some of my new D&D group are very outdoorsy, so we went up a mountain I used to go up as a child and, later, with the army.
I got the last parking spot beside the library (staff parking). Everyone else has to park on the next block
For the most part, I’m very happy with my car-free life: I don’t have to worry about insurance, maintenance, gas, and so many other little hassles. But every once in a while, I do miss that little thrill of finding the perfect parking spot.
Same here, but taking the bus can be a crap shoot at times. You never know what kind of people you're going to have to deal with or how crazy they might be. At some point I think I'm going to have to break down and get a car, with all the expenses.
I love my car and cannot imagine being without it, but I travel a lot regionally to places with no pubic transit connections.
I have several things :] First, I put my completed project into one document and it totals 228 pages on font size 13 so that's fun Second, I've made progress on three chapters in one week And third, Book 1 of my trilogy [aforementioned completed manuscript] has reached 933 views on Wattpad, not counting views made by someone who doesn't have an account
Won $7 in the Powerball lottery. Paid $6 for the tickets, so it's a slow path to wealth, but I'm playing a long game.
Starbucks, Shmarbucks. I've found my goto away-from-home writing place, especially when I'm working on a horror story. https://ravencafeph.com/
I am pleased my lungs haven't completely forgotten the progress I made last year while jogging. Getting myself back on track will take time but investing it in myself feels like a good thing this ...time...
I’m finally getting taller Before this I hadn’t grown all year and was a little disappointed because my 12 year old sister shot up and is now noticeably taller than me, but I may get another half inch in before the end of summer and be maybe 5’7.5 or 5’8
I just killed it with a video I shot earlier today. About as good as it gets considering the limitations of cell phone cameras. https://youtube.com/shorts/oq1mKy52ARI?feature=share
Three things: first, the first installation in my trilogy that I posted on Wattpad has gotten a flood of engagement, almost 250 reads these past couple days (almost at 1500 reads now) Second, I got accepted into a community college for dual enrollment and I’ll be working toward an associate’s degree as well! Had my meeting today and registered for my classes Third, four of my friends are coming over tomorrow and I’m super excited to see them, haven’t seen any of them in person for like a month even though it hasn’t felt like that long
